Hello, my travel fellows, Isha here!!!
I am here to express my experience on a two-day duo trip to the royal city of Jaipur. India’s official ‘pink city,’ Jaipur, goes beyond its unique pink-red buildings and rich history. This royal city, once home to the kings and queens, exudes old-world charm amid vibrant markets and bustling streets.
Best places to visit in Jaipur
- Day 1: The Breathtaking Palace of Winds in Jaipur, Hawa Mahal
We started our journey at the iconic Hawa Mahal, just 2 km from the Grand Anukampa. A brief auto ride not only took us there but also treated us to a view of the cityscape, setting the stage for a royal exploration. The Rs. 50 ticket for Hawa Mahal allowed us to explore this architectural masterpiece, marvelling at its honeycomb-like facade and learning about its historical significance. After exploring, we headed to the vibrant Johari Bazaar and enjoyed local street food delights.
- Day 2: Exploring the Rich History of Nahargarh Fort
On the second day, they visited the majestic Nahargarh Fort, just 15 km from our hotel. Choosing a train journey, we enjoyed scenic views of Jaipur’s landscape, preparing for the historical experience ahead. To view the Nahargarh Fort, take a ticket for Rs 200, a hilltop fortress renowned for its stunning architecture and breathtaking views of the Pink City.
After coming down from Nahargarh Fort, the nearby Jaigarh Fort, housing the impressive Jaivana cannon, caught our attention. Heading to Jaigarh Fort felt like a natural extension of their historical exploration, seamlessly linked by the shared heritage of the two forts. Amer Market, at the base, greeted us with various textiles and crafts.
Where to stay: Grand Anukampa Luxury Boutique Hotel
I had the most luxurious experience at the hotel Grand Anukampa Luxury Boutique Hotel, offering a royal stay at Rs. 2500 per night. Start your trip right at this property in Jaipur, with free Wi-Fi in all rooms. Located in Shyam Nagar, it’s close to attractions and dining. Don’t miss the nearby Amber Fort. This 4-star spot is loaded with in-house facilities for a quality stay.
Must-Visit Shopping Market and Street Food in Jaipur:
- Johari Bazaar: The market is filled with traditional Rajasthani jewellery and crafts, and local street food delights like pyaaz kachori and kulfi add a delightful touch to our day.
- Amer Market: The vibrant market welcomed us at the base, offering a variety of textiles and crafts. Here, we enjoyed eating samosas and chai, adding a flavorful note to our cultural experience.
Best Time to Visit and Tips for Travelers:
The ideal time to explore Jaipur is during the winter months, from October to March, when the weather is pleasant. It’s a time when the weather is pleasant with moderate sunlight. Despite the temperature dropping, this attractive place draws a large number of tourists during this period.
Things to carry
- Pack light clothing, sandals, and a sun hat for summer.
- Bring warm clothes and thermals for the winter.
- Don’t forget mosquito repellent, sunscreen, chargers, and prescription medication.
Tips for Travellers:

Our getaway in Jaipur was not just a series of visits; it was a journey where each site, market, and street food experience seamlessly flowed into the next, making a holistic exploration of the Pink City’s heritage and charm.
