Places to visit in Jhansi :
Day 1: Exploring Jhansi’s Heritage
- Jhansi Fort: I started my adventure by visiting the famous Jhansi Fort. This old fort played a big part in the Indian Rebellion of 1857. Walking around its huge walls and intricate architecture, I felt a deep connection to the city’s past.
- Rani Mahal: After a quick ride in an autorickshaw, I reached the stunning Rani Mahal. The fort and Rani Mahal were just about 2 kilometres apart. This palace used to be where Rani Lakshmibai lived, and it was so fancy! It felt like her bravery and stories were all around.
- Jhansi Museum: Next, I went to the Jhansi Museum to learn more about the area’s history. The museum was just a quick auto rickshaw ride, about 3 kilometres from Rani Mahal. It was super cool to see old stuff from the Indian Rebellion of 1857.
For lunch, I had to try the yummy street food. The smell of samosas and chaat was everywhere, and it tasted so good!
Day 2: Peaceful Beauty Beyond Jhansi
On the second day, I thought I’d check out the peaceful spots around Jhansi.
- Barua Sagar: I started my day by going to Barua Sagar, a really pretty reservoir. It was so peaceful there, with calm water and lots of greenery. It felt great to get away from the busy city for a while.
- Orchha: Next, I went to Orchha, an old town with amazing temples and palaces. I took a cab from Barua Sagar, which was about 18 kilometres away. It is like a hidden gem in Madhya Pradesh, with its captivating temples, ancient monuments, and lots of stories from the past. It’s often called Raja Ram’s kingdom because here, people see Lord Rama not just as a god but also as a beloved king.
After a fun day exploring, I headed back to Jhansi, thinking about all the cool places I’d seen.
Day 3: Final Moments in Jhansi
As my trip was ending, I had to go back to the Jhansi Fort one more time to soak up its history before leaving. Before I left, I quickly went to a local market and got some souvenirs to remember my awesome trip.
