- Gateway of India: The Gateway of India greeted me with its historical charm. It was built to celebrate the arrival of George V, Emperor of India, and Mary of Teck, Empress consort, in India at Apollo Bunder.
- Chhatrapati Shivaji Vastu Museum: It became my cultural retreat. The lively Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminal (CST) shared stories of Mumbai’s past and enriched my understanding of Mumbai’s historical roots.
- Marine Drive: Evenings along Marine Drive were magical, with city lights shimmering on the Arabian Sea, creating a mesmerising view.
- Wankhede Stadium: The vibrant atmosphere of Wankhede Stadium added an exciting touch to my Mumbai experience.
- Beaches of Mumbai: Discovering Bandra West Beach, exploring the lively Andheri Market, and enjoying the rhythmic waves of Juhu Beach revealed the diverse sides of Mumbai.
- Bandra Kurla Complex: Its modern elegance added a stylish touch to my travel diary, offering a glimpse into Mumbai’s contemporary charm.
Hidden Gem in Mumbai
A highlight of my trip was the exciting speedboat ride, with the wind in my hair and the splash of seawater giving a thrilling boost to my Mumbai adventure. Balancing the city’s rush, I discovered peace at the Sodhi Vinayaka Temple and Maha Lakshmi Temple, adding a holistic touch to my journey.

Exploring the local cuisine was a big part of my adventure. The famous Wada Pav and the authentic flavours of Dhokla became daily treats, each bite telling a story of Mumbai’s rich and diverse food.

The ideal time to visit Mumbai is from October to February during the winter. It’s perfect for travel and sightseeing with moderate weather, allowing comfortable exploration of the city’s glory and mysteries.
Tip for travellers
- To make the most of my exploration, I smartly chose the Mumbai Darshan ticket—a game-changer that let me visit many places efficiently. From heritage sites to modern marvels, the ticket made sure I didn’t miss any aspect of Mumbai’s charm.
- Carry summer clothes only, as the Mumbai temperature is always moderate.
- Do carry sunscreen and raincoats.
Managed my entire journey within a 15k budget, covering a round-trip flight cost of 3400 from Hyderabad to Mumbai and 4800 for the return. Despite being cost-conscious, every penny spent contributed to enhancing my Mumbai experience.
