Hello, fellow travellers!!!
Shreya this side, your travel buddy. Immerse yourself in the spiritual aura of Ayodhya with me in this ancient city in just three days. Experience the magic and divinity of Ayodhya as you explore its rich cultural heritage and delve into its historical significance.
Route to Ayodhya
The story of Ayodhya revolves around Lord Rama, the seventh avatar of Lord Vishnu, and his journey to fulfil his divine purpose. My religious journey began with a train ride from Delhi to Ayodhya, costing Rs. 2000 per person, providing a spiritually enriching experience.
Accommodation in Ayodhya
There are several hotel options available in Ayodhya, ranging from budget guesthouses to luxury hotels. To find peace, Shreya stayed at Hotel The Ramay Palace, where a night’s stay cost Rs. 1900, offering her a perfect place for quiet reflection.
Places to visit in Ayodhya: 3-Day Itinerary
- Kanak Bhawan and Shri Hanuman Garhi Mandir
My adventure continued with visits to Kanak Bhawan and Shri Hanuman Garhi Mandir, where she felt the religious atmosphere. Kanak Bhawan is known for its connection to Sita and her wedding gift, while Shri Hanuman Garhi Mandir honours Lord Hanuman and offers great views of Ayodhya. The distances between Hotel Ramay Palace, Kanak Bhawan, and Shri Hanuman Garhi Mandir by rickshaws and autos. I enjoyed exploring the lively markets near the temples, finding traditional items, and tasting street food like aloo tikki and jalebi.
- Sri Nageshwarnath Temple
On the second day of your spiritual stay in Ayodhya, I begin my day with a visit to the Nageshwarnath Temple with an auto ride, dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple is believed to have been established by Lord Rama’s brother, Lord Bharata, and is considered one of the oldest temples in Ayodhya. Participate in the morning aarti (prayer ritual) and experience the divine energy that fills the temple. After her spiritual visit, I walked around the nearby local markets, buying traditional souvenirs from Ayodhya and enjoying delicious street food like chaat and kachori.
- Guptar Ghat and Ram Katha Park
On your final day in Ayodhya, explore the cultural and historical landmarks of Guptar Ghat and Ram Katha Park and showcase the rich heritage of the city by auto ride. Visiting the Guptar Ghat, a sacred bathing ghat on the banks of the Sarayu River. This ghat is believed to be the spot where Lord Rama took a secret bath during his exile. Devotees often take a dip in the holy river, seeking purification and spiritual cleansing. I spend some time by the river, soaking up the peace it offers. Ram Katha Park in Ayodhya is a lovely place with open-air theatres and well-maintained lawns. I enjoyed devotional programmes, performances, religious events, and storytelling sessions. After that, I enjoyed street food delights like samosas and rabdi.
Best Time to Visit Ayodhya
It is advisable to plan your visit from October to March, as the weather is pleasant and ideal for exploring the city. The city experiences extreme temperatures during the summer, so it is best to avoid visiting between April and June.
