Greetings to all religious travel lovers! I am Priyanka!!!
I want to share my one-day solo journey to the sacred land of Kedarnath. This carefully crafted experience rejuvenates my mind, body, and soul, offering a much-needed break from the chaos of everyday life.
Route to Kedarnath
The pilgrimage began with a train ride from Lucknow to Haridwar and a spiritual gateway priced at Rs. 2000 per person, and then proceeded to Gaurikund by road.
Accommodation in Kedarnath
Nestled amidst the mountains, Kedar Valley Resort welcomed me for a peaceful night’s stay at Rs. 1700.
Pilgrimage to Kedarnath Temple
My spiritual journey continued as I visited the Kedarnath Temple, where the pilgrimage ticket was a heartfelt offering to the divine, without any cost. Known as one of the Char Dhams, Kedarnath Temple holds great spiritual significance as the home of Lord Shiva.
It is one of the holiest Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple, located at an altitude of 3,583 metres, is believed to be more than a thousand years old and holds immense religious significance.
I peacefully made my way from Kedar Valley Resort to the sacred temple, enjoying moments of reflection and connection with nature along the serene path. After her spiritual experience, she indulged in the simple pleasures of the local markets near the temple, delighting in street food like Kachoris and Kesar Milk, adding a touch of divinity to my solo pilgrimage.
Best Time to Visit Kedarnath
The best time to visit is from May to June and from September to October, when the weather is pleasant and the skies are clear. It is advisable to avoid the monsoon season, as heavy rainfall can make the journey challenging.
Tips for travellers
- Warm clothing, including thermal wear, sweaters, and jackets, is needed as the temperatures can drop significantly.
- Comfortable and sturdy trekking shoes to navigate the challenging terrain.
- Rain gear, including a waterproof jacket and pants, to protect yourself from unexpected showers.
- Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat to shield yourself from the harsh sun at high altitudes.
- A backpack to carry your essentials, including water bottles, snacks, and a first aid kit.
- Personal hygiene products and toiletries, including hand sanitizer and wet wipes.
As I said goodbye to Kedarnath, I took memories of divine moments and the local culture seen in markets and street food. When you adopt the calm of Kedarnath and practice yoga, meditation, and exploration, you’ll find a fresh sense of purpose and peace within. This transformative journey will deeply affect your mind, body, and soul, motivating you to live a more aware and satisfying life.
