Hello adventure seekers, Tushar here, you travel partner!!! In June, I went on an amazing trip to Rudranath in the majestic Himalayas of Uttarakhand. Also, it was an absolutely peaceful and soul-enriching journey. Let me tell you all about it with excitement!!!
Exploring the route to Rudranath
Starting from Delhi’s ISBT, I took a local Uttarakhand Roadways bus to Rishikesh, where the sacred Ganges whispered ancient tales of wisdom. From Rishikesh, our path led through Chamoli, reached by local buses, until we reached Gopeshwar. Here, we shared cabs to finally arrive at Mandal village, the starting point of our trek.

Trekking from Mandal Village to Luiti Bughyal: Day 1
On the first day, my cousin and I set off from Mandal village to Luiti Bughyal. It was tough because the dense jungle between Mandal and Luiti Bughyal had no food shops or water sources. Just us, facing the wilderness and meeting some langurs on the way. But by 4 PM, we made it to Luiti Bughyal, welcomed by breathtaking views that made the journey worth it.

Trekking from Luiti Bughyal to Rudranath Temple: Day 2
On day two, we set out from Luiti Bughyal and trekked through Pannar Bughyal and Pitradhar until we finally reached the sacred Rudranath Temple. Also, along the path, we found small shops run by locals selling simple meals like dal, rice, roti, and spices for Rs. 150–200 per plate. Despite the challenges, the breathtaking scenery made every step worth it.
Necessary things to pack for the trek: We made sure to pack essentials like raincoats, ORS, sturdy shoes, a towel, torches, and power banks to tackle the rough terrain.
Accommodation in Rudranath Trek: It was simple yet comforting; a two-person tent in Luiti Bughyal cost us Rs.500 each, while a mud-built room near Rudranath Temple provided shelter for Rs. 650.

As our journey neared its end, the evening Aarti at Rudranath Temple left a lasting impression on me, reminding me of the sacredness of the pilgrimage. With gratitude in my heart, I said goodbye to Rudranath, carrying memories of its beauty and the spiritual journey it sparked within me.
