Greetings, fellow travelers! Let’s embark on a journey to the beautiful hidden beaches of Port Blair i.e. Collinpur Beach and Kurmadera Beach. Join me as I unravel the beauty of these hidden gems.
Collinpur Beach: Sunset Bay’s Serenity
Collinpur Beach is around 30 km by road from Port Blair situated near Tirur on the western side of the South Andaman Islands. Renowned as Sunset Bay, this beach is a popular destination for its picturesque sunset views.
Kurmadera Beach: The Hidden White Flats
Kurmadera Beach: 30 to 32 kilometers from Port Blair, located close to Collinpur, features white sand beaches with shallow water for swimming, tanning, and viewing coral. A perfect place for an enchanting sunset one knows much about this beach and that’s a boon for this place. This beach is a private property but by giving a minimal entry fee one can explore the beauty of this beach. It is hidden amongst the jungle and one needs to book a local jeep to reach this place as the way to the beach is very narrow and rough. There’s pure water, good sand, and a clean beach.
You will arrive at this location securely thanks to the expertise of these jeep drivers. Approximately Rs 500–800 is charged for a single round-trip. To get to this location, visitors must take a bus from their accommodation to the Tushnabad intersection. Alternatively, they can rent a car from their hotels, however, this option may be more expensive than taking the bus. For single travelers, using the bus is a less expensive option, and from there, jeeps will transport them farther.
Safety First: Crocodile Caution
The fear of crocodiles, which can appear out of nowhere at any time, makes the beach unsafe for swimming. The area’s caretaker and safety guards will go over additional precautions with you.
