Hello! I’m Sonam, and I’m excited to share the amazing journey my family and I had to Gurudwara Sri Hemkund Sahib. Our adventure started in Hastinapur, our lively hometown. Despite life’s busyness, I’ve always found comfort in visiting spiritual places. This time, my family and I took a break from our usual routine to discover the divine beauty of Hemkund Sahib together.
Gurudwara Hemkund Sahib is a Sikh place of worship and pilgrimage located in Chamoli district, Uttarakhand, India. Dedicated to Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh Guru, it is mentioned in the Dasam Granth.
Route to Hemkund Sahib :
This trip started in Hastinapur from our busy hometown on a family trip through scenic landscapes in our car. The journey covered around 142 km, taking us about 3 hours and 15 minutes. The winding roads led us to higher altitudes, where the air became cleaner and the surroundings turned into a breathtaking vista.
Reaching Hemkund Sahib was not just a physical journey but a religious one. The excitement grew as we reached the gurdwara, situated at a height of over 15,000 feet. The drive was refreshing, with every kilometre bringing us closer to our divine destination.
Getting Spiritual Peace at Hemkund Sahib: Itinerary
Upon arriving, a feeling of peace surrounded us. The darshan at Hemkund Sahib took about 4 hours, during which we immersed ourselves in the spiritual atmosphere. The gurudwara’s serene location between the Himalayas, with a view of a pristine lake, was truly beautiful.
The place was breathtaking, with stunning snow-covered mountains reflecting in the clear waters. After the darshan, we wandered around and appreciated the beauty of nature. The langar, a shared kitchen, offered simple yet wholesome meals, highlighting the spirit of community and selfless service.
