Places to visit in Agra
- Iconic Taj Mahal
My journey began with a visit to the famous Taj Mahal, where the entry ticket cost Rs. 1200. The Taj Mahal, known for its eternal symbol of love, captivated them with its beauty. They easily reached the Taj Mahal from our hotel with an auto-rickshaw ride, experiencing the lively city atmosphere along the way. After exploring the wonder, we explored the busy markets, enjoying Agra’s famous street food like petha and chaat.
- Agra Fort
On the second day, they visited the ancient Agra Fort, where entry tickets cost Rs. 250. The fort, famous for its Mughal architecture and history, offered a glimpse into India’s royal heritage. Getting from the Taj Mahal to the Agra Fort was easy with autos, letting me view the lively city atmosphere. After exploring, we were treated to more delicious street foods like kachori and samosa in the bustling nearby markets.
- Tomb of Akbar
On the last day, they visited the impressive Tomb of Akbar, with tickets priced at just Rs. 300. The tomb showcased Akbar’s architectural brilliance and provided a peaceful atmosphere. We reached the tomb from Agra Fort easily with a short train ride, enjoying scenic views of the city along the way. After exploring, we walked through the local markets, buying souvenirs and enjoying Agra’s famous street food like bedai and jalebi. Bedai is crispy puri filled with spicy urad dal, served alongside Mathura’s famous Dubki wale Aloo for a satisfying breakfast or lunch.
Best Time to Visit Agra
The best time to explore Agra’s treasures is during the winter months, from October to March when the weather is pleasant.
