Route to Delhi to Shimla
With tickets in hand, we boarded the bus, a vessel of dreams, booked online. Our destination was Shimla, a place where destiny awaited us. As we travelled, the excitement grew with each passing mile.
Finally, we arrived at Shimla View, our home for the next 3 days. At Rs. 710 per person, it promised an unforgettable retreat. Our adventure began at 9:00 p.m. from Delhi’s Kashmiri Gate, saying goodbye to the city lights. With the sunrise, we reached Shimla at 6 a.m., greeted by the promise of thrilling experiences.
A taxi ride to Shimla View cost us only Rs. 90 per person, marking the start of our adventure. The hotel welcomed us warmly, setting the stage for the excitement ahead.
Must-visit attractions in Shimla
- Day 1: Exploration of Jakhu Temple & Mall Road: We started our adventure at the Old Bus Stand, the entrance to Shimla’s marvels. A short bus ride costing Rs. 17 per person took us 2 km to Jhaku Temple. In just over an hour, we experienced stunning landscapes, received blessings from Hanuman Ji, and captured countless scenic photos.
The temple is constructed around a spot believed to have Hanuman’s footprints. It’s a deeply respected religious site in Shimla, drawing large numbers of devotees who come to pray. Going back from the temple stairs, we arrived at the lively Mall Road, filled with colourful local markets and unforgettable memories.
As the sun set, we started walking back to the Old Bus Stand under the starry sky. Two taxis became our late-night rides, taking us back to our hotel. The night whispered stories of bonfires and laughter, creating memories that would stay with us forever.
- Day 2: Kufri’s Symphony: Waking up to a fresh day, we start with a delicious breakfast of Alloo ka Parathe, getting ready for our adventures in Kufri. Two taxis, costing Rs. 2500 in total, take us to Kufri. Our day was filled with thrilling activities included in a package ticket of Rs. 1500 per person: zip lines, balancing ropes, dancing ropes, and challenging climbs that made us feel triumphant. The day breathed new life into us, and as the sun set, Kufri’s mysteries whispered in the mountain breeze.
- Day 3: Saying Goodbye to Shimla: As the last dawn arrived, we said goodbye to Shimla View, memories engraved in every corner. A bus journey took us back to Delhi, a mix of sadness and sweetness as we left behind the captivating charm of Shimla.
