Join me on a journey filled with spiritual experiences, scenic views, and delightful encounters as we explore the ancient cities of Ujjain and Omkareshwar. I’m Anubhav Bhatt, and I’m thrilled to share my recent expedition with you, weaving a tale of discovery and serenity.
Day 1: Settling into Ujjain
After a scenic train journey from Satna to Ujjain, I arrived at my destination eager to immerse myself in the spiritual ambience of the city. Checking into TheBackPackStack Hostel, I found solace in its cosy accommodations, perfect for weary travellers seeking comfort at an affordable price. A sumptuous dinner at Sagar Gaire Café capped off the evening, setting the stage for the adventures to come.
Day 2: Temple Trails in Ujjain
Renting an Activa Scooty, I embarked on a pilgrimage to Ujjain’s sacred sites. From the revered Mahakaleshwar Temple to the mystical Kalbhairav Temple and the serene Gadh Kalika Temple, each stop offered a glimpse into the city’s rich religious heritage. The evening culminated in a mesmerising Aarti at Harsiddhi Temple, a soul-stirring experience that left me in awe of its divine beauty.
Day 3: Voyage to Omkareshwar
Boarding a bus bound for Omkareshwar, I journeyed to the tranquil island sanctuary nestled amidst the flowing waters of the Narmada River. Despite the bustling crowds, a “Special Darshan” at the sacred Omkareshwar Temple filled my heart with reverence and tranquillity. A serene boat ride around the island provided a unique perspective of this spiritual haven before returning to Ujjain, enriched by the day’s spiritual encounters.
Day 4: Reflection and Relaxation
Taking a well-deserved rest, I spent the day mingling with fellow travelers and reflecting on the soul-stirring experiences of my journey. As evening descended, a scenic scooty ride to Ram Ghat for the Ghat Aarti and a visit to Mahakaal Lok offered moments of serene contemplation amidst the city’s ancient grandeur.
