Aadarsh here, I just wanted to share my experience of recently going on an awesome 4-day group trip to the stunning landscapes of Sikkim with my friends. It was such an adventure!
Route from Delhi to Sikkim
We took a flight from Delhi to Sikkim with a ticket price of Rs. 6,000 per person.
Best Accommodation in Sikkim
We found comfort and relaxation at the comfortable hotel “Sila Norphel Retreat,” which cost us Rs. 1,500 per night.
Places to visit in Sikkim:
- Banjhakri Waterfall and Yumthang Valley: The adventure began with a trip to Banjhakri Waterfall, a peaceful waterfall nestled in lush green surroundings. Affordable tickets allowed entry to this natural wonder. Travelling 30 kilometres by auto, the journey went smoothly. The day ended with a visit to Yumthang Valley, famous for its colourful meadows and hot springs. While exploring the local market, the group enjoyed tasty street food.
- Nathula, Baba Harbhajan Singh: On the second day, we started with a trip to Nathula Pass, an amazing border crossing between India and China. Affordable tickets made it easy to explore, covering 40 kilometres. Riding in autos, we enjoyed the stunning scenery. Visiting Baba Harbhajan Singh’s shrine, they felt deep respect. The day wrapped up with a walk through local markets and enjoying delicious Sikkimese street food.
- Ranka Monastery and Gurudongmar Lake: On day three, we started at Ranka Monastery, enjoying serene views and learning about Sikkim’s culture. Then, we visited Gurudongmar Lake, a stunning high-altitude lake. Affordable tickets let us admire the beauty of travelling 90 kilometres by auto. Finally, they explored local markets and enjoyed more street food.
- Buddha Park: As we said goodbye to Sikkim’s beautiful scenery, we planned to stop at Buddha Park. Travelling 20 kilometres by auto was smooth. Our journey ended with a last look at local markets and a tasty farewell meal of Sikkimese street food.
Best Time to Visit Sikkim
The best time to enjoy Sikkim’s stunning scenery is from March to June and September to November.
