Hello explorers, Ankita this side!!! I am your travel partner, sharing my recent experience of a five-night adventure to this stunning archipelago and being left breathless by its natural beauty and rich cultural heritage. Located in the Bay of Bengal, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands are a hidden gem that few have the privilege of exploring.
Route to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands
Our adventure started with a flight from Delhi to Port Blair, the main city of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. When we landed, a cab was waiting for us that we booked online. It drove us straight to our hotel, where we could relax after the tiring journey.
5 Days Itinerary to Andaman and Nicobar Islands
- Day 1: Arrival and Exploration
Our journey started with a flight; after that, we booked a cab from the airport to our hotel, where we rested. In the afternoon, we went to explore the most famous landmark of the island, the Cellular Jail, also known as Kala Pani. It was a colonial-era prison that once housed political prisoners, and today, it stands as a poignant reminder of India’s freedom struggle.
During our trip, we had the opportunity to explore a few of the nearby markets and temples. It was a delightful experience to witness the lively colours and energetic atmosphere of the island’s culture. We also enjoyed some delicious local cuisine, including seafood dishes that left our taste buds tingling.
- Day 2: Visit to Havelock Island and Radhanagar Beach
On the second day, we started our visit to Havelock Island, which is widely viewed as one of the most beautiful places in the world. Our cab took us to the jetty, where we boarded a ferry that would transport us to this paradise.
Upon arrival, we checked into our hotel and spent the rest of the day exploring the island’s many beaches. Our favourite was Radhanagar Beach, which was named the best beach in Asia by Time magazine in 2004. The crystal-clear waters, white sand, and lush greenery left us mesmerised.
- Day 3: Enjoying KalaPathar Beach
On the third day of our trip, we decided to visit KalaPathar Beach, which is situated near the famous RadhaNagar Beach. This quiet and hidden beach is less crowded than its popular counterpart, providing a perfect spot for a relaxing and peaceful day out. During our visit, we enjoyed swimming, sunbathing, and basking in the sun’s warm rays.
- Day 4: Fun on the Cruise and Water Sports
On the fourth day of our trip, we went on a cruise that took us to some of the lesser-known beaches in the area. We had a great time indulging in some thrilling water sports activities, such as dolphin spotting, which cost us Rs. 2,500; jet skiing, which cost Rs. 600; and scuba diving, which cost Rs. 3,000. The crystal-clear waters and large marine life left us in amazement.
- Day 5: Departure and Shopping
On the last day of our trip, we spent the morning exploring Radhanagar Beach. We also did some last-minute shopping, buying souvenirs and gifts for our loved ones back home. In the afternoon, we boarded our flight back to Delhi, feeling renewed and refreshed.
Our 5-night trip to Andaman and Nicobar Islands totaled Rs. 70,000 for two, covering flights, stay, food, and activities.
