Looking for an adventurous trip? Hello fellow travellers, I’m Vivek Patel from Gujarat and will take you to a hidden gem in Maharashtra, the Dahel Waterfall. It is about 200 km from my home in Ankleshwar, Gujarat. If you love bike rides, this place is perfect. The scenic roads will make your heart happy.
So, my friend and I took a day off work, hopped on our Thunder 350 bike, and set out in the morning to see this beautiful sight.
Route from Gujarat to Dahel Waterfall:
We began our journey by starting up my Thunder 350 bike and filling up the tank. Our adventure began in the vibrant city of Gujarat, where the anticipation of exploring an off-the-beaten-path destination like Dahel Waterfall filled the air with excitement. Armed with a backpack filled with essentials and a camera to capture the memories,.
I reached Netrang via Valiya, about 70 km, and stopped for breakfast. For my first trip, I used Google Maps. The road was rough, so it took some time.
Journey to Dediapada and Entering Maharashtra:
From there, we reached Dediapada and visited the Devmogra temple for Mataji’s darshan. We reached the Maharashtra border, where my documents were checked. After entering Maharashtra, we encountered another checkpost run by village children who asked for 10 rupees. Instead of money, we gave them some fruits.
After going a little further, we took some pictures and rested. Then we continued and reached our destination.
Reaching Dahel Waterfall:
The trek to Dahel Waterfall was a blend of adventure and tranquillity. After reaching Dahel Waterfall, we enjoyed the view and took some pictures. Roaming around, we discovered a stunning spot that looked like a mini-Kashmir. Hardly anyone knows about this amazing place.
Descending into Adventure: Exploring the Unknown Mountain
We decided to explore further and go down the mountain. We looked for a way but couldn’t find one. However, we didn’t give up. Also, we asked some locals and found a group heading down for farming. They warned us about the steep descent—almost 90 degrees. Slowly, we made our way down, taking our water bottles. After about 30 minutes, we reached the bottom, and that’s where we found it.
We finished our water bottle right there and took a short rest. After a while, we realised it was time to climb back up. But there was no clear path, and the ground was slippery with stones and mud. Thankfully, it didn’t rain. After an hour, we were exhausted, with no water left. I started feeling dizzy, so we rested for a bit before slowly continuing the climb.
My condition got so bad that I thought I wouldn’t make it. I couldn’t even go back down. Somehow, after 2 hours, I reached the top and slept for a while.
When I woke up after some time, there was a house in front of me. Also, I went there, drank some water, then took my bike and started towards my home. I bought a bike for this beautiful view.
Best time to visit Dahel Waterfall:
Visit around August for the best views due to the rain. Also, August marks the peak of the rainy season in the region surrounding Dahel Waterfall. Moreover, the ample rainfall during this period rejuvenates the landscape, transforming the surroundings into a lush green paradise.
Necessary things to carry:
- Carry a raincoat, a water bottle, and some food, as there’s no food available after 100 km.
- Also, carry an extra pair of clothes with you.
- Good trekking shoes.
Tips for travellers:
- Also, I don’t recommend taking a car for the Dahel Waterfall visit due to the dangerous mountain roads.
- While travelling by bike, I recommend carrying extra fuel.
- It is advisable to carry food and water with you.
So, fellow adventurers, if you ever want a short-day tour, then Dahel Waterfall is the perfect place to have fun. Trust me, it’s a journey you won’t soon forget.
