Early Morning Flight to Pune: Adventure Begins

Our journey began with a 4 AM flight from IGI Airport, and we landed at Lohegaon Air Force Base Airport around 6 AM. Also, the flight was comfortable, and we reached our destination quickly.
Moreover, I travelled with two friends, and each ticket cost 7000 INR, which was a bit pricey but necessary due to our urgent return plans. Alternatively, you can choose to travel by train or road.
Pune Arrival and Hotel Check-in:
Upon arriving in Pune, we went directly to our pre-booked hotel, Hotel Dreamland. We had reserved a room for one night at 2300 INR. After settling in, we headed to our first destination.
A Day of History and Adventure in Pune

In the morning we visited Shaniwar Wada, a historical fort in Pune known for its rich history and architectural beauty. We explored the fort, enjoyed the scenic views, and had some local street food for breakfast nearby.
In the afternoon, we travelled to Aga Khan palace. Aga Khan Palace is a historical landmark in Pune celebrated for its architecture and significance. Also, we had lunch nearby and explored the palace, learning about its history and cultural importance. Likewise, the distance from Shaniwar Wada to Aga Khan Palace is about 5 km. It’s best to use a taxi or auto rickshaw.
Later in the evening, we visited Sinhagad Fort, which sits on a hilltop and offers panoramic views of the countryside. We travelled about 25 km from Aga Khan Palace to Sinhagad Fort, and we recommend using a taxi or private car.
Moreover, we trekked up to the fort, explored its ruins, and enjoyed the breathtaking views of Pune. The entry fee for the fort was 30 rupees per person. Later, we returned to our hotel.
A Spiritual and Scenic Day in Pune:

The next day, we started our morning at the Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Temple, a famous temple dedicated to Lord Ganesh. We took in the spiritual atmosphere and joined in the morning prayers.
Afterwards, we went to Parvati Hill in Pune. This hillock offers stunning views of the city. We hiked up, visited the Parvati Temple, and enjoyed the peaceful environment and beautiful vistas. Also, the route from Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Temple to Parvati Hill is approximately 8 km. The best options are a taxi or auto rickshaw.

We visited the Pune Okayama Friendship Garden, also known as Pu La Deshpande Garden, as our last stop. This Japanese-themed garden is renowned for its tranquillity and scenic beauty. We spent some relaxing time there, admiring the meticulous landscaping. Also, to get from Parvati Hill to Pune Okayama Friendship Garden, which is about 5 km away, a taxi or auto rickshaw is most convenient. Moreover, the entry fee was just 5 rupees per person.

Travel Like a Local: Insider Tips for Pune Trip
- Best Season: Winter (October to February) is the best time to visit Pune because of the pleasant weather. Also, Pune has moderate weather year-round, but summers can be quite hot.
- Essential Packing: Bring comfortable walking shoes, light clothing, sunscreen, and a hat.
Pro Tips: Use local transportation like rickshaws or autos for short trips. Visit popular attractions early in the morning to avoid crowds.
The overall budget for 3 people is 26,300 INR per person. Also, this includes 21,000 INR for flight tickets (7,000 INR per person), 2,300 INR for one night of hotel accommodation, and approximately 3,000 INR for food and local transport.
