Recently, I had a blast exploring the enchanting city of Jaipur for five days in October. It’s a place bursting with history, stunning architecture, and mouthwatering food. In this piece, I’ll spill all about my adventures, the costs involved, and some handy tips for your own Jaipur getaway. Let’s dive in!
Exploring Hawa Mahal and Local Delights:
Our first day started with a flight from Pune to Jaipur, priced at about Rs. 3,500 per person. After arriving, we settled into our hotel and went straight to the famous Hawa Mahal in the evening. Also,the entry fee was Rs. 50 per person. After touring the palace, we wandered through the nearby markets, indulging in street food and picking up souvenirs.
Jaipur Gems: City Palace, Jantar Mantar, and Gaitore ki Chhatriyan
We started our second day by visiting the City Palace, a magnificent complex that houses several palaces, gardens, and courtyards.

Leaving the echoes of royalty behind, we made our way to the Jantar Mantar. It is an astronomical observatory built by the Rajput king Sawai Jai Singh that costs Rs. 200 per person to watch.
In the evening, we visited Gaitore ki Chhatriyan, a beautiful royal cemetery. Also, the entry fee was Rs. 50 per person. We wrapped up the day by exploring the local markets once more.
A day to visit the Forts of Jaipur, Nahargarh, Amber, and Jaigad Forts Adventure
On day three in the vibrant city of Jaipur, our first stop was Nahargarh Fort, which had an entry fee of Rs. 50 per person. We were granted access to a world steeped in tales of valour and intrigue. Next on our itinerary was the majestic Amber Fort, with its imposing walls and ornate architecture, which left us in awe. Despite the Rs. 500 entrance fee, every step we took was worth it.
Then we moved ahead towards Panna Meena Ka Kund, a step well steeped in architectural symmetry and serenity that was free to see. Our last stop was the formidable Jaigarh Fort; we couldn’t resist the allure of its entrance fee of Rs.100. The entire day was filled with history, breathtaking views, and memorable experiences.
Enjoying the Culinary Delights of Jaipur Streets:
On day 4, we spent time savouring Jaipur’s delicious street food! We dove into the local cuisine headfirst, tasting some iconic dishes. We enjoyed Dal Baati Churma for Rs. 200, Laal Maas for Rs. 500, Pyaaz Kachori for Rs. 50, Ghevar for Rs. 100, and Kadi Samosa for Rs. 150. Also, each bite was like a journey through Rajasthan’s culinary history, full of flavours and traditions.
Exploring Galta Ji Temple, Albert Hall Museum, and Patrika Gate:
Our last day in Jaipur was a mix of culture and exploration. We started at the Galta Ji Temple, a serene Hindu pilgrimage spot with bubbling springs and amazing architecture. It cost Rs. 50 each to enter. Next, we headed to the Albert Hall Museum, which has an entry fee of Rs. 100 per person, and admired the fascinating exhibits. Also, we stopped by the Patrika Gate, bursting with vibrant colours. As our time in Jaipur drew to a close, we held onto the city’s magic, reminiscing about the unforgettable moments we experienced.

For the best experience, book your flights early, choose budget-friendly places to stay, and get around the city using a mix of public transport, autorickshaws, and walking.
Perfect Seasons for Historical Explorations:
The ideal time to visit Jaipur and Rajasthan is from October to March, when the weather is pleasant. I visited at the same time. The temperatures range from 8°C at night to 32°C during the day. Summers get scorching hot, making sightseeing less enjoyable.
