Hello Spiritual Seekers, Priyanshi here!!! Looking for nearby travel destinations from Meerut? Here I am to share a wonderful experience of Vrindavan with my family. With religious vibes in our hearts, we commenced a journey filled with devotion and discovery.
Arrival and Accommodation in Vrindavan:
- Navigating Route from Meerut to Vrindavan: From Meerut to Vrindavan in January with our car. It took us approximately 4 hours to reach Vrindavan. We travelled late at night.
- Accommodation Options in Vrindavan: We booked a Dharamshala on our way that cost us around Rs. 1000 for one room. I was travelling with my family, including myself. There were four members in total. We reached the Dharamshala late at night and rested.
Exploring ISKCON Temple:
In the morning, we went to the ISKCON Temple. It was incredibly clean and well-maintained, and it was amazing to see people from outside India embracing and worshipping our culture. It felt so wholesome. After that, we returned to the Dharamshala, which was just 5 kilometres away from the temple. We had lunch there, which cost around Rs. 100 per plate. It was delicious North Indian food, and we really enjoyed it.
Journey to Spiritual Enclaves:
Afterwards, we visited the Gopi Nath Temple and Shri Radha Vallabh Mandir. Along the way, we tried some fast food, which was pretty good. Also, the famous items to eat there were kachori, dhokla, and jalebi, which we could see at every stall.
Experiencing the Divine at Banke Bihari Temple and Prem Mandir in Vrindavan:
The next day, we visited the Banke Bihari Temple, which was very crowded, but it was worth it. Then, at night, we went to Prem Mandir, my favourite temple there. It was incredibly beautiful, and the fountain show was amazing. We travelled to these places by rickshaw instead of a car because it was more convenient.
Travelling Mathura’s Spiritual Gems :
On our last day, we drove to Mathura and visited the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple, Dwarkadhish Temple, Gita Mandir, and Baba Jaigurudev Mandir. They were all very calming, and it felt so peaceful being there.
Departure from Mathura and Vrindavan:
We were a bit tired from all the travelling, but we had to head back to Meerut at night. Despite the tiredness, it was worth it. This trip with my family is something we won’t forget. It lasted for three days, and we managed everything within a budget of around Rs. 10,000, covering all expenses.
Ideal Seasons for Pilgrimage Vrindavan:
You can visit Mathura-Vrindavan all year round, but the best time is from October to March when the weather is pleasant. We visited in January, which was amazing.
Tips and Advice for Religious Travel to Vrindavan:
- We didn’t face major challenges, but it was very crowded, especially because we went on the weekend. It’s advisable to avoid visiting there on weekends.
- Also, beware of monkeys, as they often steal phones, caps, and wallets. Stay cautious.
- Essential items to pack include a cap because it was very sunny and sunscreen to protect your skin. Consider wearing slippers instead of shoes for convenience.
