Hemant Rajpoot’s 3-Day Spiritual Road Trip: Journey of Faith with Family
Hello readers,
I am Hemant Rajpoot, a travel enthusiast who embarked on a three-day spiritual road trip with my family in January. Also, this family road trip was filled with spiritual experiences, serene moments by the Yamuna River, and explorations of sacred temples.
Our family road trip began on a quiet evening in Jhansi. We embarked on our journey at 4 PM, excited and spiritually charged for the days ahead. Moreover, travelling in a 12-seater traveller van, we had planned an itinerary that would take us to three sacred destinations: Khatu Shyam Ji, Salasar Dham, and Mathura, before concluding our trip with a visit to the iconic Taj Mahal in Agra.

Day 1: Khatu Shyam Ji and Salasar Dham

We reached Khatu Shyam Ji early in the morning, just in time for darshan. Also, the energy at the temple was both peaceful and rejuvenating. After offering prayers, we left for Salasar Dham at around 2 PM.
By the evening, around 7 PM, we reached Salasar, another major pilgrimage site. Also, the temple was dedicated to Lord Hanuman and beautifully illuminated as we arrived. Moreover, we attended the evening darshan and spent the night at Fazilka Dharamshala, a highly recommended stay for its comfort and affordable pricing at ₹3,000 for two rooms.
Day 2: Salasar Dham to Mathura

The next morning, we revisited Salasar Dham to seek blessings before continuing our journey. By 5 PM, we reached Mathura, the birthplace of Lord Krishna. However, due to restrictions, we had to park our vehicle at the bus stand and book a cab to explore the city. Also, our first stop was Yamuna Ghat, where we enjoyed a serene dip in the river and attended the evening Yamuna Aarti, a spiritually uplifting experience. After the aarti, we visited a nearby temple for darshan.
Next, we made our way to the famous Banke Bihari Temple, but the crowd was immense, so we had to be cautious with our belongings. After navigating the packed streets, we searched for accommodation and ended the night with dinner near Prem Mandir, another divine site known for its stunning architecture and spiritual ambience. Moreover, we stayed at a local guest house, booking two rooms for ₹5,000 for the night.
Day 3: Mathura to Agra

On the third day, we started with a visit to the Sri Rangnath Ji Temple in Mathura. Also, the temple’s highlight is its 60-foot-tall golden pillar, a remarkable sight. We then made our way to the Kaanch Mandir, a unique temple entirely made of glass, before heading back to Prem Mandir for darshan. Moreover, the intricate carvings and serene atmosphere made it a memorable visit, though we wished we had more time to explore.
By late afternoon, we hit the road again, this time towards Agra. Also, we arrived in Agra by 5 PM and immediately booked tickets online to visit the Taj Mahal. At just ₹50 per person, the entry fee was quite affordable, and we spent a few hours marvelling at this symbol of eternal love. After a memorable visit, we concluded our journey, stopping at a roadside Dhaba for dinner before heading home.

Accommodations and Budget for Spiritual Travel:
Our 12-seater travel tempo traveller cost us ₹40,000 for the entire trip. We booked affordable accommodations at Fazilka Dharamshala in Salasar for ₹3,000 and a guest house in Mathura for ₹5,000, making the total approximate budget around ₹75,000 for the group of 12.
Travel Tips for Spiritual Journey:
- Pack light and bring comfortable clothing, especially for temple visits. Keep your belongings safe in crowded areas like Banke Bihari Temple.
- Also, take time to enjoy the Yamuna Aarti and the peaceful surroundings at Mathura’s ghats.
- Moreover, we avoid extra luggage and keep your belongings safe in crowded areas.
This trip was an enriching blend of spiritual experiences, scenic beauty, and cultural exploration. Also, from the peaceful darshans at Khatu Shyam Ji and Salasar Dham to the vibrant streets of Mathura and the majestic Taj Mahal, it was a journey filled with memories and blessings.
