Hello there! I’m Manasvi, and I’m eager to share the amazing journey my family and I had on our two-day trip to Vrindavan. Here’s how our adventure unfolded:
Route to Vrindavan :
We began our spiritual journey from Hastinapur in a comfortable mini-bus, covering 228 km. We started around 5 p.m. and reached Vrindavan at about 9:30 p.m. Upon arrival, we quickly booked a Dharamshala for our stay.
The excitement continued as we explored the lively market that night. Waking up at 4 AM the next morning, we were eager to immerse ourselves in the spiritual atmosphere of Vrindavan.
Places to visit in Vrindavan :
- Nidhivan Temple: Our first destination was the Nidhivan Temple, only a short 10-minute walk from our Dharamshala. We arrived at the temple at 5 a.m., a bit early since the priests hadn’t opened their gates yet. However, the place was already filled with devotees eagerly waiting for the divine experience. The Nidhivan Temple is known for its special rituals and closes at 8 p.m.
- Banke Bihari Mandir: Next, we headed to the renowned Banke Bihari Mandir. At 9 a.m., we took a rickshaw for the short ride. The crowd and the line for Prasad were a bit overwhelming, but the divine darshan made it all worthwhile. The spiritual vibes were so strong that the rush seemed to fade away.
- Yamuna Ghat: Later, we explored the peaceful Yamuna Ghat, choosing a rickshaw for the ride. The ghat provided not only spiritual relief but also a variety of food options along the riverside.
- ISKCON Temple: In the evening, we went to the ISKCON Temple in Vrindavan. The temple was a peaceful retreat, and we enjoyed some street food and did some shopping around the area.
- Prem Mandir: Our last stop was the stunning Prem Mandir. It’s highly recommended to visit at night when the lighting adds a magical touch. The evening show at 7 p.m. was mesmerizing, making it the perfect end to our spiritual journey.
We went back to our ashram for the night, enjoyed a good meal, and took a bus back home the next morning.
Best Food and Accommodation in Vrindavan :
Vrindavan offers a variety of local delights that should not be missed. We indulged in delicious mithai and kachori chai from the local shops. Street food options near the ISKCON Temple were also delightful.
We booked a Dharamshala for our stay in Vrindavan. It provided a comfortable and affordable option for our family.
The best time to visit Vrindavan
People visit Vrindavan throughout the year, except in the hot summer months due to the tropical weather. The best time is from October to March, when it’s great for sightseeing and enjoying the beauty of the Yamuna River.
Travel tips:
- Must-visit Yamuna Ghat for unparalleled peace.
- Beware of mischievous monkeys. Consider buying them a Frooty from a nearby shop to retrieve your belongings if they snatch them.
- Cash is the preferred mode of payment in Vrindavan, as digital transactions may not be accepted everywhere.
- Be cautious of pickpockets, especially in crowded places like the Banke Bihari Mandir.
We kept the whole trip under Rs.15,000, covering travel, stay, and other expenses. Overall, our two-day trip to Vrindavan was a perfect blend of spirituality, family bonding, and exploration, leaving us with memories to cherish for a lifetime.
