Hi, peeps who love to travel,
I am here to share my wonderful experience of staycation in Lonavala for family, friends, or couples. A retreat where the stresses of the city go away time slows down, and the only thing on your mind is the next breathtaking vista to take in. We set out on an incredible adventure to Lonavala, where we visited Singh’s House, a remote haven, and the magical Mizzle Resort. Get ready for an adventure through these fantastical places’ peculiarities and a haven of nature.
1. Mizzle Resort: Your Pathway to Peace and Quietude
Just a 40-minute drive from Pune, Lonavala can be reached via two different routes: The busy motorway or the picturesque historic Mumbai-Pune highway. We decided to use the motorway for a quick and easy ride. However, it’s important to note that the route to Mizzle involves some off-roading, which adds some excitement.
Traveling to Mizzle allows you to see the breathtaking scenery as you drive past and under towering mountains. Enjoy letting your inner photographer go while you soak in the breathtaking views; it’s a treat for the senses.
Mizzle is situated near an expressway and a railway line, yet any disturbances are drowned out by the tranquil sounds of the surrounding environment. Lonavala is more than just a hill station; it’s a sanctuary for urbanites in search of solace, where memories of freedom are ingrained in your soul and starry skies take the place of city lights.
Stay at Mizzle
We stayed at Mizzle for 2 days and our experience can help you with your decisions-
The Mizzle Experience :
Pros-
- Mizzle is a place that is widely used by families.
- It is also couple friendly and the caretaker (Jayesh) is a good chap who helped us with all our queries.
- Due to heavy rain wifi was not working. So he called the operator and made sure we had our wifi within an hour or so.
Con-
- On paper, they say their restaurant is vegetarian but if you ask them about non-veg they will send you a photo of the non-veg menu to your phone for you to order.
- Our food order was taking more time than usual which is fine for one or two instances but it gets on your nerves if it keeps happening and no changes are made even after addressing the issue with the hotel staff.
- We didn’t have any room service. No one asked about it and we also never mentioned it to the caretaker.
- If you book budget rooms, you share a common swimming pool. The pool was jammed with elderly swimmers who treated it like a sacred Ganges dip. Unfortunately, the pool wasn’t clean, and the water quality suffered due to the crowd. If you are someone who cares a lot about swimming pools then this can be a deal breaker for you.
THE SECOND PLACE IN OUR STAYCATION WAS Paradise by Singhs’ house….!!!
2.Paradise by Singh’s House: A Couple’s Sanctuary
Our next stop, Paradise by Singh’s House, was a breezy 30-minute drive from Mizzle. This is because the Singhs’ residence is close to Lonavala Lake, and getting there requires traversing the notorious Lonavala traffic on weekends.
Couples will love Singh’s house because it offers a private cottage away from the main resort. The cottage is furnished with many vintage items and has an old-school feel.
Fun fact about Paradise by Singh’s House
The floor is not consistent. The floor level changes as you approach the washroom; it’s so slight that you won’t feel it at first, but when you do, your heart skips a beat. We’ve all experienced this. The food is okay- Nothing special in their Food Menu.
The Singh’s House Experience :
Pros:
- It’s a couple’s paradise, offering the solitude you crave.
- Don’t miss the 10-minute trek to the mountain behind the resort – the panoramic view from the top is pure magic.
- The mountains behind Lonavala Lake lead to several well-known locations in Lonavala, including Tiger Point and Lions Point.
Cons:
- The food menu and taste were average at Paradise by Singh’s House.
- Average food.
- No wifi services are available at the hotel.
We set out on this fun journey on the 15th of August, creating memories to last a lifetime. So pack your bags, escape the city chaos, and savor the charm of the hills and nature at its finest !!!
