Welcome to learn about my epic trip to Manali and Kasol with 7 friends in this new year 2024, and I’m excited to share it. We spent 4 amazing days exploring Himachal Pradesh’s beauty, and the best part? It was super budget-friendly – think ₹12,000 each. So, ready to ditch the crowds and discover hidden gems? How do I reach Kasol from Delhi?
Starting from Majnu-ka-Tilla in Delhi, we took a bus to Kasol with a fare of ₹1300. We arrived in Kasol at 7 a.m. and spent the morning exploring the local markets. Also, you know Kasol is a quaint village in Himachal Pradesh, is renowned for its New Year’s rave parties and delicious hash brownies.
Must know: The most cost-effective way is to take a traveller or a bus from Kashmiri Gate or Majnu Ka Tilla. Alternatively, you can also reach your destination by cab or flight.
Things to do in Manali and Kasol
- Day 1: Trekking to the Serene Village of Chalal
After settling down, in the afternoon we embarked on a trek to Chalal, a charming village situated along the Parvati River. Also, the trek was refreshing, and the serene atmosphere by the river was both calming and healing. If you’re planning a trip to Kasol, the Chalal Trek is an experience you shouldn’t miss.
- Day 2: Kasol to Manali and Finding Paradise
The next morning, we travelled from Kasol to Manali, a scenic – to 4-hour journey offering breathtaking views of mountains and the Kullu Valley. Upon arriving in Manali, a true paradise, we checked into a hotel, with peak season rates ranging from ₹1500–2500 for a decent stay.
So, our first destination in Manali was Solang Valley, nestled between snow-capped mountains and renowned for its adventure sports activities. Afterwards, we explored the vibrant Old Manali market, home to charming cafes and hostels popular with backpackers and solo travellers.
We also visited the Hadimba Devi Temple, also known as Dhungri Temple, a historically significant site surrounded by lush green trees and serene natural beauty. Moreover, this temple is one of the best places to experience the peace of Manali.
- Day 3: Exploring Atal Tunnel, Sissu, and Koksar
We started our day early, heading to the Atal Tunnel and Sissu. You can reach these destinations by bus for ₹400 or by cab for ₹2000. The Atal Tunnel’s beauty was breathtaking, and visiting the villages of Sissu and Koksar was a treat. Also,these villages are surrounded by lush greenery and are near the Chandra River.
- Day 4 : Ending Our Memorable Trip
We returned to Delhi on the 4th day, concluding our memorable trip. Moreover, returning to Delhi didn’t signify the end of our adventures; rather, it was a reminder that every journey matters, no matter how short it is.
Cosy Escape in Manali: A Beautiful 2-BHK Cottage Awaits
We booked a 2BHK wooden cottage located 5–6 km from the outskirts of Manali. Also, the cottage offered the best views and delicious food, all for ₹4000 per night.
Must know: The best months to visit this scenic paradise in Manali are from October to June. Also, Kasol enjoys mild and pleasant weather year-round, but from March to May, you can experience its magical landscape at its finest.
Best Cafes to Enjoy Food Delights in Manali and Kasol:
- For a taste of history, check out Cafe 1947.
- If you’re with a group, 7 Sisters Cafe is a great place to gather.
- Also, the Lazy Dog Lounge sounds like the perfect spot to relax after a long day.
Packing essentials for Himachal Pradesh:
- Carry motion-sickness tablets.
- Also, pack extra pairs of woollen clothes, including jackets and socks, especially if travelling during New Year’s.
Insider Travel Tips for Every Destination:
- Try to book a car through your hotel to cover more places, as traffic can be heavy during this time.
- Also, it’s very cold during that time, so take care of your health and carry any necessary medicine.
The laughter, the adventures, and the beauty of Himachal had left a memorable mark on our hearts. Also, we had explored, adventured, and bonded, all within a budget that allowed us to enjoy every moment without worrying about expenses.
