Hello travel enthusiasts, Hemant here!!!
In December, while in Indore for work, I took the chance to go on a spontaneous road trip with a friend. We rented a bike for the next day and set off to explore the nearby attractions, turning our short stay into a memorable adventure. For the trip, bike rental costs 4,000 INR for 2 days.
The best accommodation in Indore at Fab Express Hotel, Vijay Nagar, is 1,500 INR per night for 1 room.

Day 1: Omkareshwar Expedition

We set off early in the morning, heading towards Omkareshwar, a significant pilgrimage site. The journey took us around 3 to 4 hours due to road construction. Upon reaching, we parked our bikes and crossed the bridge over the Narmada River to get to the Omkareshwar Temple.
We joined the long queue and waited for more than three hours to get a Darshan of the revered Shri Mamleshwar Jyotirlinga. After our darshan, we took some photos on the bridge, capturing the serene surroundings.
Post-visit, we enjoyed some snacks and began our journey back to Indore, reaching 6 PM.
Day 2: Divine Encounter at Mahakaleshwar Temple

Our second day began with an early ride to Mahakaleshwar, which was about a 30-40-minute drive from Indore. We took a refreshing bath in the Sipra River before heading to the Mahakaleshwar Temple. Within an hour, we completed our darshan and wrapped up our trip.
Must know: Food and miscellaneous expenses total 1,000 INR. Thus, the total approximate cost is 6,000 INR per person.
Hidden Gems You Can’t Miss Out on in Indore

Indore is home to several hidden gems that offer unique experiences for visitors. Sarafa Bazaar is a must-visit for night owls, transforming from a jewelry market by day to a vibrant night bazaar after dark. The illuminated streets come alive with food stalls serving delicious snacks like garadu, flavored pani puri, and bhutte ka kees. Pick up some colorful bangles or oxidized silver accessories as souvenirs.
Another gem is the Patalpani Waterfall, located 25 km from the city center. This 300-foot waterfall is surrounded by lush greenery, making it ideal for a relaxing trek, picnic, or swim, with local wildlife such as langur monkeys adding to the charm.
For a genuine local shopping experience, head to the handicraft shops around Sarwate Bus Stand for Maheshwari and Chanderi textiles. Finally, explore Lal Baag Palace, the former residence of the Holkar dynasty, with its Baroque and Classical architecture, grand halls, and a musical fountain from London.
