Hey there! Suraj is here, and I’m excited to share my trip to Varanasi with you. It is so amazing to think of the sacred Ganges. Also, Varanasi is a city that is filled with spiritual energy and historical significance.
How do I reach Varanasi?

My adventure began with a scenic train ride from Kanpur, costing 750 INR.The vibrant ancient city on the banks of the Ganges immediately captivated me.
Embracing the Monsoon Magic: Best Time to Travel Varanasi

I chose June for my visit, during the monsoon season, and it turned out to be a great decision. Also, the weather was just perfect—not too hot, not too cold—just moderate, making it ideal for exploring the city. Moreover, the monsoon rains lent a fresh, lush ambience to Varanasi, adding to its already mystical charm.
My Perfect Stay Options in Varanasi:

A Home Near the Ghats!!! I opted to stay near Assi Ghat, which I highly recommend. There are plenty of good hotels in the range of 800 INR to 1000 INR per night, though you can also find more luxurious options if you’re willing to splurge a bit. Assi Ghat was my first stop, where I experienced the mesmerising Aarti ceremony and soaked in the spiritual atmosphere of the place.
The Grandeur of Vishwanath Birla Temple

On my first day in Assi Ghat, I made my way to the Vishwanath Birla Temple in BHU, a magnificent structure that left me in awe of the city’s rich heritage.
The Shri Vishwanath Mandir, also called Vishwanath Temple or Birla Temple, is a famous temple in Varanasi. Located in Banaras Hindu University. Also, it is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It’s a great place for tourists, kids, and anyone looking for peace. Moreover, You can spend a couple of hours here enjoying the beautiful decorations and meditating. The temple surrounds by lovely trees and monuments, making it a must-visit spot in Varanasi.
Serene Boat Ride from Assi to Manikarnika Ghat

On day two, the highlight of my trip was taking a boat ride from Assi Ghat to Manikarnika Ghat. It gave me a unique view of the city’s famous ghats and was very peaceful.
To get around, rickshaws are the best option—they’re easy to find and cheap. If you’re flying in, Varanasi has an airport, but it’s a bit far from the main market area.
Culinary delights to enjoy in Varanasi:
Of course, no trip to Varanasi would be complete without indulging in the local delicacies. I couldn’t get enough of the sabzi puri, Banarasi paan, and other mouthwatering treats. And let me tell you, the South Indian food here is delicious! Street vendors offer these delights at affordable prices, typically ranging from 50 to 200 INR per meal.
