A Journey Through the Iconic Sites of Rishikesh: Things to Do
- Triveni Ghat: In Rishikesh, we soaked up the spiritual vibes by visiting the famous Ganga Ghats. Triveni Ghat stands out especially during the evening Aarti when lamps are lit and set afloat on leaf boats as a mark of respect to the sacred Ganges. Moreover, the ghat is surrounded by temples like Gita Mandir, Lakshmi Narayan Temple, and Bharat Temple and a lively market full of treasures awaits nearby.
- Parmarth Niketan: It is one of the largest ashrams and yoga centres in Rishikesh. Also, it organises the annual International Yoga Festival in March, which draws hordes of tourists every year.
- Ram Jhula and Laxman Jhula: They are two bridges for people to walk across the Ganges. Also, legend has it that Laxman Jhula stands where Lord Ram’s brother, Laxman, crossed the river on a rope. That’s why Laxman Jhula is a must-visit spot in Rishikesh.
