Greetings, fellow seekers of serenity! I’m Vansh, and I am thrilled to recount the enchanting tale of our family’s 5-day pilgrimage through the sacred realms of Kedarnath, Badrinath, and the revered Dharidevi Mandir. Join us on this spiritual escapade, filled with divine encounters and soul-stirring moments.
Day 1: Muzaffarnagar to Gaurikund – A Pilgrimage in Motion
Our sacred journey kicked off with the hum of anticipation as we packed our bags for a family pilgrimage like no other. A road trip from Muzaffarnagar to Haridwar set the tone, and around 2 PM, we found ourselves securing a traveler for the next leg of our adventure at a cost of 40,000 INR. Our family car found a safe haven in Haridwar as we prepared to explore the Chardham circuit.
Hiring a taxi to Gaurikund, our gateway to Kedarnath, was the next step. Covering approximately 220 kilometers over seven hours, the taxi ride unveiled vistas of natural splendor and winding roads. The arrival at Gaurikund marked the commencement of our horseback ascent to Kedarnath, a spiritual journey spanning 16 kilometers.
Destinations for the Day:
Kedarnath Temple – Nestled in the lap of the Himalayas, this abode of Lord Shiva beckoned with its divine presence.
Adi Shankaracharya Samadhi – A tranquil resting place honoring the great philosopher Adi Shankaracharya.
The God’s Rock – A symbol of divine strength, standing as a testament to the power of faith.
Our spiritual endeavors were rewarded with a delightful meal at Hotel Panchwati, offering not just sustenance but a comfortable night’s rest.
Day 2: Gaurikund’s Holy Waters – A Purifying Soak
The dawn of the second day saw us at Gaurikund, immersing ourselves in the sacred waters of the Ganges, purifying our souls for the journey ahead. The 16-kilometer trek from Kedarnath to Gaurikund offered moments of reflection and tranquility.
Following this soul-refreshing ritual, we retraced our steps to our parking area, ready to embark on the next leg. Our traveler ferried us to Badrinath, with an unexpected blessing – a detour to seek the divine blessings of Maa Dharadevi. Covering a distance of 210 kilometers, the journey unfolded seamlessly.
Day 3: Badrinath Darshan – A Divine Encounter
Badrinath, an abode of tranquility, welcomed us for a divine encounter. Nestled in this sacred town, Agrawal Restaurant became our haven for the night, offering a unique blend of hospitality and gastronomic delights.
With the first light of morning, we savored a hearty breakfast, paving the way for a short stroll to the hallowed Badrinath Temple. Our spiritual sojourn reached its zenith as we basked in the divine aura, capturing memories through the lens of our hearts and cameras.
Post Badrinath darshan, our journey turned homeward, covering approximately 320 kilometers back to Haridwar. Each kilometer traversed carried the echoes of sacred chants and the resonance of divine blessings.
