Greetings, Dear travel lovers. I am Hitaksh.
The City That Never Sleeps- Mumbai (Bombay)-You want to have a fantastic holiday in Mumbai, but you have no idea where to start? Let me help you explore my three-day solo trip to Mumbai, popularly known as the “City of Dreams.”
Day 1: Beautiful Views: Marine Drive by the Sea & Gateway to Grandeur
We began our trip to Mumbai with a stop at the magnificent Gateway of India, a symbol of colonial-era grandeur. You’ll experience the pulse of the city as you stand there looking out at the Arabian Sea. To get there,we hopped on a local train and arrived at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST), which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We were amazed by its stunning design and learned about its history. The distance between CST and the Gateway of India was a short 1.5 kilometers.
We took a tour of the Gateway of India and Marine Drive before setting out on another thrilling journey, this time by hailing an auto-rickshaw.
Take a relaxing walk along Marine Drive, commonly known as the “Queen’s Necklace” because of its glittering curve of street lamps, to cap off your day. The sea breeze and the calming waves set the perfect tone for our adventure. The Gateway of India and Marine Drive were about 3 kilometers apart.
Don’t forget to have chaupati mumbai food. Head to Ashok Vada Pav near Dadar, where the locals line up for this heavenly delight.
Day 2: Shree Siddhivinayak & Bandra-Worli Sea Link
Welcome to the second incredible day of your Mumbai adventure. Start your day with a touch of spirituality at the renowned Shree Siddhivinayak Temple, seeking blessings from Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles. We used Mumbai’s effective local train network to travel to the temple. A powerful impact was made by the spiritual atmosphere of the temple and the incense-scented air.
The Shree Siddhivinayak Temple was 10 kilometers from our accommodation. After visiting the temple, we were impressed by the engineering of the Bandra-Worli Sea Link.
We took an auto-rickshaw to reach the iconic bridge and were captivated by the breathtaking views it offered. The temple was approximately 9 kilometers away from the Bandra-Worli Sea Link.
Day 3: Prime visit to Kanheri Caves, Elephanta Caves, Juhu Beach
On our final day, we visited the Kanheri ancient Buddhist caves in Sanjay Gandhi National Park. These caves were located 27 km from our hotel, and we hired an auto-rickshaw to reach there. Then, we went to Elephanta Caves, a UNESCO site by taking a local boat from Gateway of India, around 10 km away.
The last stop for the day was Juhu Beach which was 16 km away while taking an auto. We were excited to enjoy the sea breeze and delicious street food Bhel Puri and Sev Puri.
Uncover the magic of Mumbai, one bite and one landmark at a time!
