I am very excited to share my trip experience because this has been one of the best travel experiences of my life. Also, I can’t even explain how much fun it was in Delhi vibes. Maybe it was the awesome friends, or it was the magic of ‘Dil walo Ki Delhi’.
Delhi Adventure: Bus Ride and Fun with Friends
Our adventure to Delhi began online, booking bus tickets from Lucknow’s Alambagh for Rs. 850 each. We were four friends, buzzing with excitement for the trip. Our comfortable bus rolled out of Alambagh at 10 a.m. and dropped us off in Delhi by 6 p.m., marking the start of an unforgettable journey.

After our bus ride, we were ready to unwind. Luckily, we had booked a room at Hotel Picasso Naraina beforehand for Rs. 2,200 a night. Since it was getting late, we headed straight to the hotel. After dropping off our bags and freshening up, we grabbed dinner and hit the hay, ready to explore Delhi tomorrow.
Exploring Historical Sites and Street Food
- Lal Qila (Red Fort)
The next morning, we visited Lal Qila. Built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, it is a mesmerising historic fort. Also, our hotel to Red Fort is about 15 km, taking around 40 minutes by cab. Moreover, we enjoyed famous street foods like Dahi Bhalla and Aloo Tikki, which were delicious!

- India Gate
Next, we went to India Gate, a war memorial for soldiers who died in World War I. Also, Red Fort to India Gate is about 8 km, taking around 25 minutes by autorickshaw. Moreover, the monument looks especially beautiful in the evening when it’s lit up.

- Qutub Minar
Our next stop was Qutub Minar. India Gate to Qutub Minar is about 16 km. We took the metro (Central Secretariat to Qutub Minar station), which took around 35 minutes. Moreover, it is the tallest brick minaret in the world. Its architecture fascinated us.

- Akshardham Temple
Then, we visited Akshardham Temple, a modern marvel with stunning carvings and beautiful gardens. Also, the temple’s spiritual atmosphere gave us a lot of peace. Qutub Minar to Akshardham Temple is about 20 km by cab.
- Raj Ghat
Next, we visited Raj Ghat, the memorial to Mahatma Gandhi. The serenity and simplicity of this place were very soothing. Also, Akshardham to Raj Ghat is about 10 km, taking around 30 minutes by cab.

- ISKCON Temple (Greater Kailash)
We ended day two with the ISKCON Temple. It is an architectural marvel with intricately carved pillars, stunning idols, and beautiful domes. Also, the serene and spiritual ambience is enhanced by its lush green surroundings and well-maintained gardens. Moreover, Raj Ghat to Temple is about 12 km, taking around 23 minutes.
Delhi’s Must-Visit Markets and Fun
- Connaught Place
We began our day at Connaught Place. Our hotel to Connaught Place is about 12 km. Also, we took the metro from Naraina Vihar to Rajiv Chowk, which took around 30 minutes. Moreover, the colonial architecture and lively market are amazing. We enjoyed Kachori and Chole Bhature, which were delicious.
- Dilli Haat
Next, we visited Dilli Haat, an open-air market with unique handicrafts and regional food. We had momos and a Rajasthani thali. Also, Connaught Place to Dilli Haat is about 7 km. Moreover, we took the metro from Rajiv Chowk to INA, which took around 20 minutes.
- National Zoological Park

We then went to the National Zoological Park. It was exciting to see various animals and birds. Also, this place is perfect for children and nature lovers. Moreover, the National Zoological Park is about 10 kilometres from Dilli Haat. We got a taxi, and it took about 30 minutes to get there.
A Guide to Delhi’s Hidden Gems and Shopping
- Chandni Chowk
We started our day at Chandni Chowk, known for its variety and historical significance. Our hotel in Chandni Chowk is 16 km away. Also, the cab ride took about 40 minutes. Moreover, we enjoyed delicious Paranthe at Paranthe Wali Gali and Jalebi. The experience was incredible.
- Sarojini Nagar Market
Next, we visited Sarojini Nagar Market for cheap and trendy clothes and accessories. Chandni Chowk to Sarojini Nagar is 15 km. The metro ride took around 45 minutes.
- Agrasen Ki Baoli
Then, we explored Agrasen Ki Baoli, which was 10 kilometres away from Sarojini Nagar.Also, the metro ride took about 30 minutes. It is an ancient stepwell with fascinating architecture.
- Sunder Nursery
We then went to Sunder Nursery, a beautiful garden with historical monuments and diverse flora. Also, Agrasen Ki Baoli to Sunder Nursery is 8 km. The cab ride took around 25 minutes.
- Tughlaqabad Fort

Finally, we visited Tughlaqabad Fort, which is 15 km away from Sunder Nursery. Also, it is an impressive ruin with stunning views, great for photography. The cab ride took about 45 minutes to reach here.

- Best Season to Travel Delhi: Delhi travel from October to March is best when the weather is pleasant.
- Essential Packing Tips for Delhi: Comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, hats, water bottles, and light cotton clothes for summer or warm clothes for winter.
- Do’s and Don’ts in Delhi: Respect local culture and traditions. Also, avoid carrying too much cash, and be cautious of pickpockets in crowded areas. Moreover, always bargain in markets.

Must Know: Delhi has extreme temperatures, so pack accordingly.
This trip was an amazing blend of history, culture, food, and fun. Exploring Delhi with friends made it an unforgettable experience.
