Travelling from Delhi to Haridwar: How to Reach?

We began our trip from Delhi’s Kashmere Gate by bus, costing about ₹500 per person. Our bus left at 7 a.m., and we arrived in Haridwar by noon.
Finding Accommodations in Haridwar
My father had pre-booked a room at HOTEL Ganga Palace for ₹2500 per night. After checking in, we went out to explore and seek blessings. Located in the city centre, it is within walking distance from most hotels.
Exploring Haridwar: Must-Do Activities
- Day 1: A Morning at Mansa Devi Temple

We checked in and wasted no time getting to Mansa Devi Temple. First, we enjoyed a hearty breakfast of puri-sabzi at Mohan Ji Puri Wale, then visited the temple. Mansa Devi Temple, situated on Bilwa Parvat, offers a splendid view of Haridwar.
Also, the atmosphere at the temple was incredible, filled with positive energy and a deep sense of spirituality. Moreover, the Darshan experience was very fulfilling.
Next, we visited Har Ki Pauri, a famous ghat on the Ganges. Moreover, The peace and tranquillity were unmatched. We attended the evening Ganga Aarti, a mesmerising and spiritual experience. Afterwards, we enjoyed a refreshing lassi and rabri from Pandit Sevaram Sharma Doodh Wale, which was absolutely delightful.
- Day 2: Temples, Wildlife, and Local Delights
The next morning, we visited Maya Devi Temple, one of the Shakti Peethas, located about 2 km from our hotel. Also, the temple, steeped in rich history and spiritual significance, was a serene start to our day.

In the afternoon, we headed to Rajaji National Park, approximately 10 kilometres from Haridwar. We took a cab to reach the park, and the journey took about 30 minutes. Also, the park, home to a variety of wildlife, offered us an adventurous break from the temple visits. Moreover, we thoroughly enjoyed a thrilling jeep safari, experiencing the natural beauty and wildlife up close.
In the evening, we visited Vaishno Devi Temple, a replica of the renowned Vaishno Devi Temple in Jammu. The temple, situated around 4 km from the city centre, was accessible by auto rickshaw ride. After the darshan, we indulged in some delicious local street food, including chaat and pakoras, which added a flavorful end to our day.
- Day 3: A Day of Devotion and Tranquilly in Haridwar
On the third day, we visited Daksha Mahadev Temple, located about 6 km from our hotel. We took a rickshaw to get there. Also, this temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is one of the oldest in the area and exudes a calming spiritual atmosphere.

Next, we visited Shantikunj Ashram, a renowned spiritual and social organisation about 7 km from the city centre. We reached the ashram by autorickshaw. For lunch, we dined at Raghuvanshi Bhojanalaya inside the ashram, enjoying simple yet delicious vegetarian food. Also, the ashram provided a serene environment and offered various spiritual activities.

The Ideal Season for Your Trip to Haridwar

The best time to visit Haridwar is from October to April, when the weather is nice. July can be hot and humid, with occasional rain storms. Also, Haridwar is generally safe, but watch your belongings in crowded places.
Moreover, the main challenge in July is the heat, so stay hydrated and wear comfortable clothes.

- Dress modestly, especially when visiting temples.
