Hello, travel enthusiasts! This is Sudhanshu Sharma, your travel buddy. In October, I had the opportunity to visit the stunning Tosh village in Himachal Pradesh. My trip was perfectly organised for 3 nights and 4 days, allowing me to experience breathtaking scenery, go on trekking adventures, and explore the rich culture of the place. Join me on this amazing journey to Himachal Pradesh, where every moment is sure to leave a lasting impression on your soul.
Route from Chandigarh to Bhuntar
On my first day, I started my journey on a Volvo bus from Chandigarh to Bhuntar, which took about 8–10 hours. The cost for this ride was about Rs. 800–870 per person. Upon reaching Bhuntar, I was ready to move to Barshaini.
From Bhuntar, I had the option to take a local bus or taxi to Barshaini, which took about 2.5 hours. The cost of a bus ride was Rs. 200–300 per person, while a taxi would cost Rs. 800–1000. Preferred taking a taxi for a more comfortable journey. After reaching Barshaini took a local jeep to Tosh village, which cost around Rs. 100 per person and took approximately 30 minutes.
Best Accommodation in Tosh Village:
During my stay, I checked into the Pink Floyd guesthouse, which cost me Rs. 1400 to Rs. 1500 per day. The guesthouse offered a stunning view of the surrounding area and was made even more enjoyable by its cosy balcony.
During my stay in Kheerganga, I chose to stay in a tent at Freedom Camping. The tent cost Rs. 1000 per night and included dinner and breakfast.
Places to visit in Himachal Pradesh:
- Exploring Tosh:
I spent the following day in Tosh, a scenic village that offers budget-friendly guest houses ranging from Rs. 500 to Rs. 1000 per night, depending on the season. Planned to stay at the Pink Floyd guesthouse. I spent the day exploring the Tosh temple, walking through the village’s charming streets, and hiking to the Tosh Waterfall. The village’s serene atmosphere and natural beauty left a lasting impression on me.
- Barshaini and Kheerganga:
On the next day, I took a local jeep back to Barshaini, which cost Rs. 100 per person and took 30 minutes. From Barshaini, I trekked to Kheerganga, a journey of around 5–6 hours with lovely views and lush green forests. Kheerganga planned to stay in a tent at Freedom Camping. Spent the night admiring the breathtaking view of the Parvati Valley, surrounded by mountains, and relaxing in the natural hot springs.
The next day, I enjoyed the serene surroundings of Kheerganga before starting on the downhill trek back to Barshaini, which took about 4 hours. From Barshaini, I took a taxi to Bhuntar and then continued my journey by Volvo bus directly to Chandigarh.
Best time to visit Tosh Village
Tosh Valley is stunning all year round, but the best times to visit are February, April, May, June, September, and early October. The choice of which one suits you best is entirely up to you. I opted for the month of October.
Necessary things to pack:
- Carry enough cash for your entire trip, as ATMs are scarce in the area.
- Pack warm winter clothes and shoes for trekking.
- Carry a water bottle and some snacks for hydration.
Travel tips:
1. Be prepared for unpredictable weather, especially if trekking. Layers of clothing are essential.
2. Respect the local community, their culture, and customs, and always ask for permission before taking photos of people.
3. Wear comfortable shoes suitable for trekking or walking to make your journey more enjoyable.
During my trip to Tosh in Parvati Valley, I spent around Rs. 9,000–10,000. I hope this itinerary and advice inspire you to plan your own adventure to the enchanting Tosh village in Himachal Pradesh.Searching for captivating travel adventures?
