Hello travel lovers, Sheetal here!!!
Embarking on a journey is about finding that perfect balance between productivity and exploration. Also, for my recent journey, I decided to set off on an adventure through some of India’s most vibrant and spiritually enriching destinations, including Mumbai, Delhi, Dharamshala, and the breathtaking Triund Trek.
How to reach from Mumbai to Delhi:

We began our work by boarding the Paschim Express from Mumbai Central at 11:30 PM. The overnight journey was comfortable, and we reached New Delhi the next morning at around 10:45 AM.
Day 1: Exploring Delhi

Upon arrival, we freshened up in the waiting room and stored our luggage in the cloakroom. Also, our Delhi exploration kicked off with a hearty breakfast of delicious Chole Bhature. Moreover , we then booked a cab and spent the day visiting iconic landmarks such as:
- Red Fort
- India Gate
- Humayun’s Tomb
In the evening, we boarded a pre-booked Flexbus from Kashmere Gate at 7:30 PM, heading towards Dharamshala.
Day 2: Arrival in Dharamshala

Our bus journey ended as we arrived in Dharamshala in the morning. We took a cab from the bus stop, which cost us around 400 INR for four people. Also headed to the best stay at Dharamshala in The Hosteller McLeodganj on Mall Road. Moreover, it costs us approximately 900 INR per person per night.
After logging in to work (since it was a workation), we spent our afternoon at Tibet Kitchen, a cosy café in McLeodganj’s main market. Also, we savoured the Thukpa, momos, Tibetan Thali, and Boba tea in the perfect work-friendly spot.
Likewise , in the evening we enjoyed a stunning sunset at our hostel, followed by games and a movie night with fellow travellers.
Days 3-4: Triund Trek and Camping
We took two days off to embark on the Triund Trek and Camping. We booked our trek and camping through Hill Hikers. Also, the cost, including dinner and breakfast, was around 1000 INR per person.
Likewise, we started our trek around 10 to 11 a.m., and it took about 4 to 5 hours to reach the top. Along the way, we enjoyed mesmerising views of the Dhauladhar range. Moreover, the next morning, we began our descent, taking our time to enjoy the surroundings. After having lunch, we relaxed until the afternoon. Also, for dinner we headed to Jimmy’s Italian Kitchen to try their authentic pizzas and soups. Likewise, we went to bed early to rest after the day’s activities.
Day 5: Local Sightseeing in Dharamshala

We started our day early, hiring a cab for local sightseeing, which cost us around 1500 INR. Places we visited:
- Gyuto Monastery
- Kunal Pathri Temple
- Tea Garden
- HPCA Cricket Stadium
- Aghanjar Mahadev Temple
- War Memorial

Post-sightseeing, we resumed our work back at the hostel. For lunch, we tried a variety of local dishes, including Biryani, Momos, Siddu, and Laphing. In the evening, we explored the McLeodganj market and visited the Dalai Lama Temple.
Moreover, dinner was at McLlo Restaurant, an old favourite known for its delicious food. It’s a popular spot with cricketers and celebrities.

Days 6-7: Return to Delhi and Mumbai

After checking out from the hostel, we took a cab to the Dharamshala bus pickup point, costing around 400 INR for four people. Also, we boarded our return bus to Delhi via Flexbus.

Must Know: The total budget for one person is between 8,000 and 9,000 INR. Also, for all four girls, the combined budget is approximately 36,000 INR.
Essentials for the Trek:
- Invest in a good pair of trekking shoes. They make a significant difference during the hike.
- Also, carry a lightweight backpack filled with snacks, a first aid kit, and a light jacket for cooler temperatures at the peak.
Beginner Travel Tip:
- If possible, arrange to camp at Triund. It allows for a magical sunrise experience that’s well worth the wait.
- Also, use the Delhi Metro for efficient travel around the city. It’s affordable and a quick way to navigate through traffic.
- Moreover, don’t forget to carry a water bottle as you explore. The altitude can be dehydrating.
