Our journey to Mahabaleshwar was a spontaneous decision. We were looking for a quick weekend escape from the bustling city life of Thane, and Mahabaleshwar seemed like the perfect spot. Also, with its cool climate, lush greenery, and various activities to indulge in, the two-day getaway was exactly what we needed to unwind.
Day 1: Scenic Drives and Adventure

Travel Guide to Mahabaleshwar: We began our journey from Thane at 7:00 AM and took the Mumbai-Pune Motorway via car. Also, we reached Pune by 9:30 AM, where we met friends and had a quick breakfast at Dakshin Dosa—a perfect spot for delicious South Indian snacks. Moreover, by 10:30 AM, we were back on the road to Mahabaleshwar.
Accommodation in Mahabaleshwar: The drive was enchanting, with the picturesque Sahyadri mountains and fog-covered roads making the journey magical. Also, we reached Mahabaleshwar by 2:00 PM and checked in at Hilltop House for Rs 1100/night.

Our first stop was Mapro Garden, just a few kilometres away from our hotel. It’s a strawberry paradise where we indulge in the famous “Strawberry with fresh cream and ice cream.” We also picked up some snacks and goodies like cookies and beverages, with plenty of free samples to try.

After Mapro, we couldn’t resist visiting Velocity EntertainmentZ. Also, it was the perfect place to fuel our adrenaline. Go-karting on the largest track in Maharashtra was thrilling, and we also enjoyed a round of dashing cars. Moreover, other activities like bungee jumping and paintball, added to the excitement.
Best Food to Try in Mahabaleshwar: Next, we headed to Mala’s Cheese Factory, where we th xx bsavoured cheesecakes and brownies. Also, we ended the evening at Berry’s Cafe, which had a great ambience for a quiet dinner before heading back to our hotel.
Day 2: Exploring Pratapgad Fort and Panchgani

Day two was all about history and scenic views. We woke up early, checked out of our hotel, and drove towards Pratapgad Fort. On the way, we discovered the hidden tree-lined road that made the drive even more special. Also, we took some beautiful photos there and continued to Pratapgad.
The trek to Pratapgad was a wonderful experience, soaking in the historical essence of the fort and the breathtaking views. Later, we made our way to Parsi Point in Panchgani, a scenic spot offering picturesque views of the lake and surrounding landscapes. After enjoying some snacks there, we headed back to Pune, completing our short yet memorable journey.

Hidden Gems Visited in Mahabaleshwar:
While going to Pratapgad from Mahabaleshwar city, there’s a hidden left turn that leads to an unknown road covered with trees. The drive along this road offers a unique and serene vibe.
Best Restaurant & Cafe:
- Berry Cafe: Known for its fresh berry dishes. Average cost: ₹400 per person.
- Cheese Factory: Famous for a variety of cheese-based items. Entry and tasting: ₹200 per person.
- Mapro: Popular for fruit-based products and sandwiches. Average cost: ₹300 per person.

- There was huge traffic near Narhe, Pune.
- Also, start the journey early in the morning to avoid traffic and have a full day to explore Panchgani and Mahabaleshwar.
Mahabaleshwar was a refreshing escape, combining the best of nature, adventure, and delicious food. Despite minor challenges like traffic, the trip was filled with wonderful memories, making it a perfect weekend getaway.
