Welcome, fellow travellers! Injeela Wahid is on this side!!! Today, I’m thrilled to take you on a journey to one of India’s most iconic destinations: Jaipur.
Route from Delhi to Jaipur
As the sun began to set on the first day of our three-day trip to Jaipur, we started on our journey from Delhi. Due to the high levels of pollution during Diwali, we decided to avoid the capital city and instead head towards the Pink City, which is roughly five hours away by road. We arrived in Jaipur around midnight.
Accommodation in Jaipur
We reached midnight and checked into a superb haveli-turned-hotel named Arya Niwas that had a homely boho vibe. The cost of staying in that hotel per room per night was Rs. 4,700. The hotel had a garden and a diner, and while it wasn’t exactly luxurious, it had a royal vibe that drew us in.
They also had a buffet system, and while they served non-veg only once a day, I enjoyed their dal makhani. There was also a cafe nearby that we frequented for more dining options. The hotel had a big, hygienic washroom, and the staff was attentive to our needs. It was conveniently located near all the tourist attractions.
Places to visit in Jaipur
- Day 1: Visiting all the forts
- Safari Visit:
On our first day, we woke up at 5 a.m. to go on a safari, which cost Rs. 750 per person. We were lucky enough to spot two cheetahs, and it was an exhilarating experience.
- Amber Palace:
After a relaxing afternoon, we went to visit the Amber Palace and Hawa Mahal. When we arrived at Amber Palace, we were informed that we had to leave our vehicle at a certain point and take the management’s rides to get to the entrance. There were also many souvenir shops near both of these stunning monuments. Our guide at Amber Fort showed us all the important spots, including the area where the queens used to bathe and the common area.
- Hawa Mahal:
Hawa Mahal, with its intricate latticework, was a sight to behold, and I fell in love with it at first sight.
- Sheesh Mahal:
During our trip, we visited Sheesh Mahal, a palace made entirely of glass pieces. The palace was breathtakingly beautiful, and the intricate and detailed designs on the walls left us in awe. Our guide also took us to a souvenir shop that had unique gifts, although we found the items to be quite pricey. Additionally, we saw numerous portraits of the king’s family and their descendants displayed on the walls.
- Day 2: A Tour of the Pink City
On our second day, we explored Pink City. We visited the local market, which was made from orange sandstones, and bought clothes and rings for ourselves. We spent the entire day shopping and were able to see the entire city from the market.
- Day 3: Relaxing at the Hotel
On the last day of our stay in Jaipur, we decided to have breakfast at a nearby cafe, which I had grown quite fond of during our trip. The music in the cafe was amazing, and the entire setup was fantastic. After breakfast, we spent the rest of the day relaxing and enjoying the local experience provided by our hotel.
Best time to visit Jaipur:
I visited Jaipur at the time of Diwali, in October. The ideal time to visit Jaipur and other parts of Rajasthan is from October to March. During these months, the weather is pleasant, with temperatures ranging from 8 degrees Celsius at night to 32 degrees Celsius during the day. Summers can be scorching hot, making sightseeing a less enjoyable experience.
Necessary things to pack:
- Wear warm clothes for the safari, as it can be quite cold during the morning. A pullover will be perfect.
- Carry drinking water with you at all times.
- Sunscreen and comfortable footwear are essential.
Tips for Travellers:
- Avoid taking your car to visit Amber Fort, as it can get stuck in high traffic, and it may take several hours to come out of the same.
- If you want a traditional and local experience of Jaipur, I’d suggest staying in a haveli rather than a hotel.
The Jaipur trip was overall very amazing for nearby Galway from Delhi. I will recommend you pack your bags to immerse yourself in the history of Jaipur.Searching for more travel tales? No worries visit https://sowl.in/stories for breathtaking stories! Safe travels and happy exploring, everyone!
