Moreover, I will share my budget travel experience during peak season from May to November. Join me as I take you through the beauty and serenity of Niti Valley and Parvati Kund.
A Hidden Gem in the Himalayas!!!
From Delhi to Joshimath: Route to the Himalayan Gateway on Day 1:
On day one, I began my journey with a night bus ride from Delhi to Rishikesh. Then followed by another bus to Joshimath. I reached Joshimath by late morning, just in time to obtain the necessary Security and Defence Magistrate (SDM) permission to visit the disputed land of Parvati Kund. This permission is essential, as the area is contested between India and Tibet. Alternatively, you can ask locals for assistance beforehand, as they might be able to help you secure a free pass. After obtaining permission, I visited the famous Narsingh Mandir in the evening.
Exploring Niti Village and Beyond on Day 2:
On the second day, I embarked on a journey to Niti Village via a local traveller. It’s important to note that your network might not work after Gamshali Village, the second-last village before the Tibet border. I arrived in Niti by 1 p.m. and chose to rest at either Niti or Gamshali Village. Also, interacting with the tribal locals and experiencing their homestay was a memorable part of the trip.
Adventures in Parvati Kund on Day 3:
We took a local ride to head for Parvati Kund, excited for the adventure ahead. But surprise! At the entrance, the Indo-Tibetan Border Police gave us a warm welcome with some quick ID and health checks. Once cleared, we delved into the breathtaking beauty of Parvati Kund. It was surrounded by lush green landscapes and situated near the Indo-Tibet border. Depending on the border conditions, we had to trek for about 3 km to reach the destination. After soaking in all the beauty, we said goodbye to Parvati Kund. After that we settled in for the night at Gamshali.
A Visit to Timbersen Mahadev Temple on Day 4:
Day four started with a peaceful trip to the Timbersen Mahadev temple, also known as the Small Amarnath, in the morning. Also, this local temple offers a serene atmosphere and a unique spiritual experience. Then, with a heart full of memories, I set off on my journey back to Joshimath.
From the Himalayas to Home on Day 5:
From Joshimath, I took an early morning bus back to Delhi. With happiness I concluded my unforgettable adventure to Niti Valley and Parvati Kund.
Experience the best accommodation facilities:
For accommodation, I stayed at Hotel Dronagiri in Joshimath, where prices start at just Rs. 500. Offering stunning views, well-appointed rooms, an incredible restaurant, and a wide range of world-class amenities. Wake up to the stunning views of the majestic Himalayas. Also, enjoy the property’s proximity to Jogidhara Waterfall, just 1.6 km away. Savour North Indian, Chinese, Oriental, and continental delicacies at the on-site restaurant, Ahaar.
