Train to Kalka, Bus to Bliss: Our Journey to Kasauli

Our adventure began with a train journey from Delhi Railway Station to Kalka, Haryana. Also, we boarded the train at 9 PM and, after a cosy ride, arrived in Kalka at 3 AM. Moreover, the tickets cost us 200 INR each. From Kalka, we hopped onto a bus to Kasauli, with the bus fare being 150 INR per person. The scenic bus ride took about an hour.
Unpacking in Kasauli: Our Stay at Surya Regency Premium
Once in Kasauli, we checked into our hotel, Surya Regency Premium, where we stayed for 2000 INR per night. After freshening up and grabbing a hearty breakfast, we were ready to explore the charming town.

Manki Point: A Panoramic View of Kasauli
Our first stop was Manki Point, the highest point in Kasauli. Known for its panoramic views and a small Hanuman temple, Manki Point offered us breathtaking vistas of the valleys and the Sutlej River. Also, we took an autorickshaw from our hotel, costing us 100 INR. Entry to Manki Point is free, but registration at the entrance is required.
We spent a delightful time soaking in the views, savouring local street food like pakoras and jalebis, and enjoying refreshing coffee from a nearby stall. Moreover, the serene atmosphere and cool breeze made it a perfect start to our trip.

Gilbert Trail: Nature’s Walkway
Next on our itinerary was Gilbert Trail, a picturesque trail ideal for nature walks and bird watching. An auto rickshaw ride from Manki Point cost us 100 INR. Also, the trail offered lush greenery and stunning valley views. Moreover, We took many photos and relished the peaceful environment, accompanied by the melodious chirping of birds.

Sunset Point: Golden Hues Over the Hills
As evening approached, we made our way to Sunset Point. The auto rickshaw ride from Gilbert Trail cost 100 INR. Sunset Point, known for its mesmerising sunsets, was a sight to behold. We found a spot to sit and enjoyed the view as the sun dipped below the hills. Local vendors offered delicious snacks like momos and chana chaat, making the experience even more enjoyable.

Christ Church: A Serene Sanctuary
Our final stop for the day was Christ Church, a historic British-era church known for its Gothic architecture. We took an autorickshaw from Sunset Point for 100 INR. Also, the church, with its stunning stained glass windows and tranquil surroundings, provided a peaceful end to our day.

Timber Trail: A Forest Adventure
On the following day, we checked out of our hotel and set off for Timber Trail. We took a bus from Kasauli to Parwanoo, costing 100 INR per person. Also, the highlight was the thrilling cable car ride at Timber Trail, priced at 1,250 INR per person. The ride offered exhilarating views of the mountains and valleys, adding an adventurous touch to our trip.
Tips for travelling to Kasauli
- Best Time to Visit Kasauli: March to June and September to November offer pleasant weather. Also, summers are mild, while winters can be cold with occasional snowfall.
- Essential Packing for Kasauli: Bring warm clothing if visiting in winter, along with comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a camera.
- Local Transportation: Auto Rickshaws and taxis are common, and walking is a great way to explore the town.
