Hello everyone, I’m Mohd Arif.
I’m excited to share the highlights of my recent trip to Ajmer with my brother. Also, we spent 3 days exploring the vibrant city and its surroundings in December, and it was an unforgettable experience. The approximate budget for two people was 10,000 INR.
Mode of Travel and Accommodations to Ajmer

We travelled to Ajmer by train on the Udaipur Intercity, which cost us 930 INR per person for a 3rd AC coach.
Also, we stayed at the New Jannat Hotel in Ajmer, priced at 2000 INR per night for one room.
Day 1: Spiritual Exploration in Ajmer

- Ajmer Sharif Dargah: It is a very lovely holy place where you get a very beautiful night view along with peace, and you can also enjoy Qawwali in the evening. Also, there are markets all around within a radius of 2 km of the Dargah. You will find everything you need, including good food, clothes, artificial jewellery, hotels, and the famous Ajmer Sone Halwa.
- Taragarh Mountain: We explored the mountain, enjoying the panoramic views of the city.
- Dhai Din Ka Jhopra: We visited this historical site, known for its unique architectural style.
Day 2: Discover the Hidden Gems of Ajmer

- Salwar Sharif: We visited this revered site, appreciating its spiritual significance.
- Ana Sagar Lake: A serene boat ride on Ana Sagar Lake was a perfect way to enjoy the beautiful scenery. The entry fee was 25 INR per person for Indians, and the park around it cost 10 INR per person. I enjoyed Anaar Sagar, the boat ride, feeding the fish, and enjoying the view.
- Five Sagar Waterfall: We also explored the nearby Five Sagar Waterfall, which was refreshing and picturesque.
- Ajmer Chopati: We ended our day relaxing and savouring local snacks.

Day 3: A Day in Pushkar

- Desert Safari: Our day trip to Pushkar included an exhilarating desert safari, which cost us 1500 INR for two, including the cultural attire of Rajasthan. Also, the experience was thrilling and offered stunning views of the desert landscape.
- Pushkar Zoo: We visited Pushkar Zoo with an entry fee of 50 INR per person and enjoyed seeing various animals.
- Brahma Ji Temple: We explored this famous temple and tried the delicious lassi available outside.
Savouring the Local Delights of Ajmer and Pushkar
We enjoyed meals at Kaynat Restaurant near Dargah and Garib Nawaz Hotel opposite it. A one-time meal for two at these places costs around 600 INR. Also, we tried Ajmer’s famous Ghewar, Malai Ragda, and evening snacks near Ajmer Dargah.
Important Tips for Rajasthan Adventure:
- Bargaining for auto bookings at each location was essential to avoid overcharging.
- Also, try the lassi outside Brahma Ji Temple in Pushkar.
- Moreover, don’t miss out on Ajmer’s ghewar and malai ragda.
- Likewise, pack essentials like sunscreen, a hat, a water bottle, and comfortable shoes.
- Similarly, the best time to visit Ajmer is between November and December, when the weather is pleasant and cool.
My brother and I visited Ajmer separately, meeting up with our parents and sister, who were already there. We explored a few places together before returning home. The budget I mentioned only covers my brother and me, not my parents.
Also, I highly recommend visiting Ajmer if you get the chance—it’s truly worth it.
