Calling all travel enthusiasts, Mukesh here!!!
Are you seeking a destination that offers a perfect blend of spiritual awakening and thrilling adventure? Look no further than Rishikesh, the “Yoga Capital of the World.” Venture on my epic journey with a group of eight, packed with stunning scenery, soul-stirring experiences, and a dash of adrenaline-pumping fun.
A Morning Ride to Spiritual Haven :
Our Rishikesh adventure began on a February morning at 10:00 a.m. from Dehradun to Rishikesh. We hopped on our two-wheelers and started on a scenic ride towards the sacred Ganges. Also, the well-connected route ensured a smooth journey, with petrol pumps readily available for peace of mind. We rescued Rishikesh in one hour.
Finding Serenity by the Ganges:
Upon reaching Rishikesh, we were instantly captivated by the calming aura of the Ganges River. We walked along the riverside, soaking in the tranquillity and the vibrant energy of the holy city. Our first stop was the iconic Laxman Jhula, a suspension bridge leading us to the revered Parmarth Niketan Ashram. Also, this renowned spiritual haven, nestled on the sacred banks of the Ganges, offered a glimpse into the heart of Rishikesh’s spiritual core.
Thrilling Rafting on the Holy River
Next, we ventured towards Ram Jhula, the perfect spot for some heart-pounding river rafting. At an affordable price of Rs. 300 per person, we embarked on an unforgettable adventure, navigating the rapids with friends and creating memories that will last a lifetime. February’s cooler temperatures made the rafting experience even more enjoyable. Also, our 9-kilometre journey, starting from Brahmpuri Neem Beach, provided breathtaking views of Rishikesh from the middle of the Ganges.
Pro rafting trip : Travel Rishikesh in February, book your adventure well in advance as this peak season sees ideal weather conditions with comfortable temperatures.
A Refreshing Break and Local Delights:
As our exciting rafting adventure approached its end, our guide steered us towards a welcome stop. Here, we relished steaming cups of chai for just Rs. 10 and delicious maggie for Rs. 60, the perfect post-rafting refuel.
Exploring Rishikesh’s Delights: Food You Must Try
With rumbling tummies, we headed towards a restaurant near Janki Jhula, indulging in a delightful and affordable meal. As the clock struck 4 p.m., we continued our exploration, venturing towards the Shivpuri side. While it didn’t hold any specific attractions for us, it added to the overall experience of Rishikesh.
A Picturesque Escape to Kyarki Village:
Desiring a scenic escape, we set off for Neer Waterfall, only to find it bustling with crowds. So, we decided to explore the charming Kyarki Village, located 6–8 km away from Rishikesh. Also, a breathtaking panoramic view of Rishikesh bathed in the golden hues of a mesmerising sunset. Remember, the road to Kyarki Village is a bit rough, so navigate with caution.
Bidding Farewell, But Not Without Memories:
As darkness settled, we bid farewell to Rishikesh, carrying a treasure trove of memories. Around 7:30 PM, we bid farewell to Rishikesh and headed back to Dehradun. If you want to stay longer, you can find affordable hotels or resorts in the village. At night, we had trouble leaving Kyrki village due to the roads, so it’s safer to stay there overnight.
Necessary things to pack:
- Umbrella
- Slippers
- Extra pair of clothes
Planning Tips for Your Rishikesh Adventure:
- There’s so much to discover beyond the popular spots.
- Also, explore the variety of restaurants and stalls on Mall Road. We spent roughly Rs. 250 per person per meal, enjoying a delightful culinary experience.
So, it was a budget-friendly adventure, approximately Rs. 4000. Since we didn’t stay overnight, it was a comparatively more affordable short trip.
