Hello travel lovers!
Jaipur, often referred to as the Pink City, is a mesmerising blend of history, culture, and vibrant colours. Also, I had always dreamt of wandering through its bustling streets, marvelling at the architectural wonders, and immersing myself in its rich heritage.
Delhi to Jaipur: A Journey to the Pink City

As the sun rose over the horizon, I started on a journey to Jaipur, the Pink City, by car. The route from Delhi to Jaipur was scenic, with lush green fields stretching as far as the eye could see. Also, the newly built Mumbai-Jaipur National Highway made the drive swift and pleasant. Moreover, in just about four hours, I found myself entering the vibrant and historic city of Jaipur.
Day 1: A Glimpse into the Royal Grandeur of Jaipur

- Amber Fort:
It is a stunning UNESCO World Heritage Site. As I wandered through its beautifully designed palaces, courtyards, and gardens, I also felt like I had travelled back to the era of Rajput royalty. Moreover, you can also climb the fort using the elephant safari and experience the view like in royal times.
- Hawa Mahal:

Next on my list was the iconic Hawa Mahal, or the Palace of Winds. Also, its unique facade, adorned with intricately carved windows, offered a glimpse into the past, where royal women would watch the bustling city life below while remaining unseen. Moreover, the delicate architecture and the sheer number of windows left me in awe.
- City Palace:

This Palace was my next destination, providing a fascinating look into the opulent lifestyle of Jaipur’s royal family. Also, the palace complex is a beautiful blend of Rajput, Mughal, and European architectural styles, adorned with exquisite artwork and artefacts. Before entering the palace, I took a walk through the palace bazaar, filled with shops selling handicrafts and artworks, adding to the rich cultural experience.
- Jal Mahal:

As the day drew to a close, I visited the serene Jal Mahal, a palace floating on the tranquil waters of the Man Sagar Lake. Moreover, the picturesque view of the palace against the setting sun was a sight to behold, offering a moment of peace and reflection.

Day 2: Exploring Culture and Craftsmanship in Jaipur

- Jaigarh Fort:
The second day of my Jaipur trip began with a visit to the majestic Jaigarh Fort, perched on a hilltop overlooking the city. Also, the panoramic view of Jaipur from the fort’s ramparts was awe-inspiring, and the fort’s history and architecture were equally captivating.
- Jaipur Shopping:
After exploring Jaigarh Fort, I went shopping in Jaipur. Bapu Bazaar, known for its colourful textiles, jewellery, handicrafts, and souvenirs, had plenty to offer for a satisfying shopping experience.

- Nahargarh Fort:
Before leaving Jaipur, I stopped by Nahargarh Fort, situated on the Aravalli hills. Also, the fort’s grand structure and panoramic city views were the perfect way to end my Jaipur trip. Moreover, from its height, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of Jaipur, especially the city lights in the evening.

A Night of Rajasthani Delights and Heritage Charm
For dinner, I indulged in an authentic Rajasthani Thali at a restaurant called ‘Thali and More,’ savouring the rich flavours of dal bati churma, gatte ki sabzi, bajre ki roti, and more. Also, I spent the night at a heritage hotel in the heart of the city, immersing myself in the regal ambience and warm hospitality.
