Journey to Ambalapuzha Begins: How to Reach?
Starting from Coimbatore, I rented a Royal Enfield bike for 1,800 rupees per day. The journey began with a scenic ride to Munnar, covering approximately 160 kilometres. Also, from Munnar it was another 182 kilometres to reach Ambalapuzha, located about 25 kilometres from Alleppey. Moreover, the entire route is picturesque, offering glimpses of Kerala’s diverse landscapes.
Must know: Ambalapuzha is the destination, somewhere 25 kilometres from Cochin.
Accommodation in Ambalapuzha for Relaxation:
Located just 12 kilometres from Alleppey, Akhichan Yoga Homestay is a beautiful retreat by the seaside. Also, the homestay offers both AC and non-AC rooms, with prices starting at 1000 rupees per day. Moreover, for a non-AC room and 1800 rupees per day for an AC room. Likewise, I opted for the non-AC room, which cost me 2000 rupees for two days. The weather was pleasant, making the non-AC option comfortable. As well as the homestay served delicious cultural food, adding to the overall experience.
Day 1: Arrival and Seaside Serenity in Ambalapuzha
Depart from Coimbatore to Munnar on your Royal Enfield. Enjoy the lush greenery and winding roads as you ascend to the hill station. Continue your journey from Munnar to Ambalapuzha. Also, check into Akhichan Yoga Homestay and unwind. Moreover, spend the evening relaxing by the seaside, taking in the tranquil atmosphere and the stunning sunset.
Day 2: Exploring Backwater Beauty in Ambalapuzha
After a hearty breakfast at the homestay, set out to explore the hidden backwaters. Also, the untouched beauty of these waterways is mesmerising, offering a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of tourist hotspots.
Moreover, visit three lesser-known backwater spots, each with its own unique charm and serenity. These spots are Kumarakom Backwaters, Kuttanad Backwaters and Thottappally Backwaters, perfect for a leisurely exploration. Return to the homestay and savour a delicious dinner. Reflect on the day’s adventures and enjoy the homestay’s serene ambience.
