Hello travel enthusiasts,
My name is Khushboo, and I just got back from a fun group trip to Jaipur in July. Also, Jaipur, known as “The Pink City,” is a vibrant destination filled with historical forts, palaces, and bustling markets. I’m excited to tell you all about it.
How to Reach From Varanasi to Jaipur: A Journey by Train
We took a train from Varanasi at 5 p.m. for our trip to Jaipur. Each train ticket costs ₹1100. Also, it was a night train, so we arrived in Jaipur around noon the next day. Moreover, I was with some friends on the journey.

Accommodation on a Trip through the Pink City
We started our Jaipur adventure at the conveniently located Royal Orchid Central in Bani Park. After checking in and freshening up, we were eager to see the vibrant city. Also, the accommodation expenses are ₹7,500 (₹2,500 per night for three nights).
Things to do in Jaipur:
Day 1: Exploring Amber Fort: Majestic Architecture and Local Food

Our journey began at Amber Fort, an impressive fortress situated approximately 11 kilometres from the city centre. We reached there by cab in about half an hour. Also, known for its breathtaking architecture and panoramic views, Amber Fort left us in awe. Following our exploration of this majestic site, we ventured to a nearby vendor to savour Pyaaz Kachori. While Rawat Mishthan Bhandar in the city centre is renowned for this delicacy, we discovered a delightful version close to the fort.
Day 2: Exploring Jaipur’s Glories: Hawa Mahal and Jantar Mantar

Our second day in Jaipur started with Hawa Mahal, the “Palace of Winds.” This iconic landmark is only about 5 kilometres from our hotel, so a quick 15-minute auto-rickshaw ride got us there. Also, the five-story honeycomb facade is truly unique, and we spent a good bit of time admiring the architecture and snapping photos.
Just a short walk from Hawa Mahal, we found Jantar Mantar, a fascinating astronomical observatory. Moreover, this historical site features giant instruments used to measure time and track the stars. Also, right outside Hawa Mahal, we couldn’t resist grabbing some delicious golgappa (also known as pani puri) from a street vendor—a tasty treat.

Day 3: Jaigarh Fort: History, Views, and Local Cuisine
On the third day of our trip, we travelled to Jaigarh Fort, situated approximately 15 km from our hotel, which took about 40 minutes by cab. Also, this fort is famous for its enormous cannon, Jaivana, and provides breathtaking city views. Near Jaigarh Fort, we discovered stalls serving Dal Baati Churma, a delicious traditional Rajasthani dish that offered us an authentic local culinary experience.

Must Know: Food and snacks cost ₹10,000, and ₹10,000 is allocated for sightseeing tickets and local transportation.
Unveiling Jaipur’s Hidden Gems:
- Panna Meena ka Kund: This is a beautiful step well located near Amber Fort, about 10 km from the city centre. Also, it’s a less crowded spot with stunning geometric steps and offers a serene atmosphere.
- Galta Ji (Monkey Temple): Located about 10 km from the city centre. Also, it is a historic temple complex known for its natural springs and resident monkeys. Moreover, near Galta Ji we enjoyed Aloo Tikki and Chole Bhature from local stalls, which were delicious.

Travel hacks for Jaipur:
- Essential Packing: Pack light cotton clothes, sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and comfortable walking shoes.
- Best Season to Visit: Plan your trip between October and March for pleasant weather in Jaipur.
- Weather: Expect occasional rain showers in July, which is monsoon season.
- What to Do: Indulge in local cuisine, discover historical landmarks, and explore vibrant local markets.
- What to Avoid: Steer clear of the peak afternoon heat and stay vigilant against pickpockets in crowded areas.
